Thanks for helping out this newbie to AA.
You should have time to renew, not sure if you need to do in person and if that is convenient.

This post was a while ago, but some information could help future readers. I couldn't recreate what was described above on Google Street View, but what I saw there looks reasonably up-to-date (though the imagery dates from the lockdown and looks eerily quiet). Depending on what you saw, it could have been the old Park Avenue check in area, which was all the way on the right of the T3 drop-off lanes. I really enjoyed that while it lasted.

AA's website may have been updated since your post was written, and correctly shows zone D for Flagship First Check-In. You will want to get out of the car on the left side of the street, and access the zone D entrance door. AA's premium check-in areas are inside. You can also see it indicated in that area of the map on the airport's website. I last used it about three days ago.

On another point, I noticed that JFK is no longer listed on AA's Flagship First Check-In website

Everything is different at JFK now thanks to BA's move. No FFCI, it's the new premium check-in. No FFD, it's now the Chelsea lounge. No flagship lounge, Greenwich and Soho and Greenwich.

It's much nicer (imo) than their flagship offerings, but it does make it confusing that they didn't keep at least some of the naming.

Check in as BA gold / oneworld emerald

Hi everyone. Apologies if this is best placed in the BA forum, or if I’m missing something obvious.

I just wanted to check what check in and fast track security options there are at MIA for a BA gold / OW emerald flying business class with British Airways to LHR. I don't have TSA pre-check.

Am I able to use the flagship first check in?

I also understand that I’ll be able to access the flagship lounge, but not the first dining area.

many thanks all

LAX Flagship First Check In Location?

Can anyone share current location of AA Flagship First Check In? The past few years it has moved around due to construction and I end up wandering around a bit trying to find it which I’d like to avoid. My flight is on Wednesday. Thanks

Last time I rolled through LAX at the end of February it was at the very end of of the doors to Terminal 4 as you walk towards 5. Not hard to find. There's a couple people standing outside and a podium.

The old Park Avenue check-in area was demolished around 2006-2007 when T3's forecourt and landside departures area was redeveloped. For a good few years after that, AA had their Flagship First check-in in a separate building on the forecourt, which was added in the redevelopment, and was what you saw on Street View.

As you're flying with BA, you will need to use BA's check-in area; there's a dedicated First desk which you can use as a Gold member. There is no priority security at MIA.

You can use the Flagship lounge. Flagship First Dining would only be available if you were travelling in First.

Do you tip the person the escorts you to the front of the security line after check-in?

I've been to the LAX check-in a decent number of times and after check-in, someone always escorts me from the check-in room, up the elevators, to the front of the security line.

I'm not sure what the etiquette. Is a "thank you so much" good enough or should I tip him/her a few dollars?

Was curious if you're actually supposed to be escorted to the front of the TSA/Precheck line after coming out of the new AA/BA F check in at JFK. Every time I've gone through, the TSA line on the other end wasn't too long. But there was never any agent there to escort anyone to the front. So I just got in the back of the line.
Is it SOP that someone should be there? I've been through at all different times of day, and always the same experience. Really makes no sense to actually use the F check in unless you're checking in luggage, if this is the case.

I’ve never received an escort and JFK is my home airport. I can barely get them to crack a smile when I walk through, so forget about them moving from their chair.

only escort I regularly get is at LAX which is very nice… and much needed given their security lines

Yep, the new flagship (or whatever it’s called now) check in provides zero utility unless you’re checking bags except maybe you’re a bit closer to the start of the precheck line. And worse, if you don’t have precheck, you basically are funneled into the priority line, meaning you’re still looking at a lengthy security wait. There usually is a guy waiting outside after the check in area, but all he does is wave you to either precheck or priority. Definitely a downgrade compared to actual flagship first check in facilities.

In Mia I always got escorted to the front of the tsa. And my spouse to the front of the regular security point.

I have found each airport to be different. LAX is the best experience I have had to date. They consistently take me up via the elevator and directly to the front of the line each time, with the agents being very nice. JFK has a different setup entirely and the enter the line from the Flagship check in area unescorted. The people there don't tend to be the friendliest, but that's somewhat standard for the NY Metro area in general. The JFK line tends to be short, so I have never had an issue there. DFW has no Flagship process for check from what I can tell, which is surprising.

Returning SYD-LAX-PHL.. Flying Flagship First then regular first onward. Before I ASSume anything, can anyone confirm 1)We'll have to clear immigration/customs and re-clear security, right? 2)will we have access to Flagship check-in/security line jump? Does it really matter (we have TSAPre)?

And off topic, will we be able to access Qantas First Dining during our layover?
