Yep, the new flagship (or whatever it’s called now) check in provides zero utility unless you’re checking bags except maybe you’re a bit closer to the start of the precheck line. And worse, if you don’t have precheck, you basically are funneled into the priority line, meaning you’re still looking at a lengthy security wait. There usually is a guy waiting outside after the check in area, but all he does is wave you to either precheck or priority. Definitely a downgrade compared to actual flagship first check in facilities.
