This post was a while ago, but some information could help future readers. I couldn't recreate what was described above on Google Street View, but
what I saw there looks reasonably up-to-date (though the imagery dates from the lockdown and looks eerily quiet). Depending on what you saw, it could have been
the old Park Avenue check in area, which was all the way on the right of the T3 drop-off lanes. I really enjoyed that while it lasted.
AA's website may have been updated since your post was written, and
correctly shows zone D for Flagship First Check-In. You will want to get out of the car on the left side of the street, and access the zone D entrance door. AA's premium check-in areas are inside. You can also see it indicated in that area of
the map on the airport's website. I last used it about three days ago.
On another point, I noticed that JFK is no longer listed on AA's
Flagship First Check-In website
