They were handing these out while travelling JFK-SFO last weekend, so it's not just an LAX promo.

Yep.I flew JFK - LHR on Feb 14 and was presented onewith their appreciation for being a valued customer. This one has AA silkscreened on the leathercover too. I think this promo apart from Sony having its reason is for AA to implicitly acknowledge that their Business product on the 777 is inferior to competition (Eos, BA, Virgin etc) while they upgrade and so thi is is an extra thank you.

Flagship Lounge at LAX.. Still no PCs

Firstly most of my travel is between my Global homes and offices, so I rarely fly with a Laptop [I have permanently lost more hand luggage than checked bags over the past 40 years]

Therefore I appreciate PC's in Lounges. Now that the price has fallen below $400, do you think there is any possibilty we will get dedicated PC's in The LAX Flagship Lounge, the PC's in the Main AC always seem to be in use.

Are you familiar with the second set of PCs in the back of the LAX AC? Those are much easier to snag than the ones in front of the bar.

I don't think it's going to happen. I've been in there before Qantas departures and the place can get pretty full. I can't see them pulling out seats to put in a kiosk with PC's.

AA did issue a press release when they changed the PC's to Lenovo that they were going to lend out laptops. That would seem a better solution. Have no idea what became of the laptop solution, as I've never seen an agent offering anyone a laptop in any AC, nor are there signs offering laptops for loan.

Here's a clip from the Lenovo 2006 press release:

Through the agreement, new Lenovo ThinkCentre desktop computers, along with ThinkVision flat panel displays, will be installed in all 43 Admirals Club lounges. In addition, Lenovo ThinkPad Z60 notebooks and Thinkpad X41 Tablet PCs will be available in Admirals Club lounges worldwide. IBM will provide deployment services, including the loading of software, testing, staging and installation of the PCs and IBM printers.

There's a bar in the LAX AC? I just grab a couple of drinks in the FL and then wander round the back PCs in the AC to do my work.

Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Thank you for the pics! Man, I love this lounge!
Maybe it's because I'm only there as part of intriguing vacations!

But I shouldn't forget LAX's FL's great staff...

...Last weekend I was on my last leg of PKR-KTM-DEL-ORD-LAX-DFW (23 hours of flying, 43 hours including stopovers).
The equipment change from 767 to 777 decreased the number of first class seats and thus relegated me to the Business cabin -- still a NGBC, but a suite would've been nice.
The AAngel at the FL had the wonderful idea of wait-listing me for first.
Before boarding I inquired of my chances at the gate, and the agent there basically smirked.
However, once aboard I was escorted out of the business cabin into a 777 suite!!!!!!!

Great job FL AAngel! ^

Two key advantages over the ORD FL (which I love nonetheless):

1. Great views.
2. Showers
