For a second, I almost thought a Piper Sonoma was a plane. I need more sleep.

I'm in the lounge right now and it is very nice. Much nicer than MIA was yesterday (although I had remembered MIA to be better). Nice selection of breakfast foods, fruit etc. I suspect I may have arrived too early for the waffles though - perhaps they are still preparing the batter

I can't speak to other locations, but the JFK FL breakfast menu goes beyond a typical continental offering. Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes...

The LAX FL waffle maker is long gone -- it was pulled sometime in the spring of '10.

What did they replace it with?

Nothing. Which is really a disappointment.

When I discovered this in June, I asked the AAngel and she said it's not coming back.

The breakfast at the FL at ORD is strictly continental at best, in my experience. Also the Waffles at ORD are horrible. They taste like thawed out, stale, frozen waffels.

I wonder why there is such a difference between FL at JFK and ORD?

Having done LAX-BNE on QF a few weeks ago, I'd suggest planning to eat on QF 16. The FL food wasn't that impressive in quantity or quality. Also, the QF breakfast is better than what you'll get in the QF J lounge in BNE...so eat on the plane before arrival.

IMO, you're probably better off going for a walk from 8-10pm...stretch your legs, etc., rather than spend 24+ hours in "AirLand". There's a thread with ideas for what to do on short LAX layovers...even as simple as taking the Parking Spot-Sepulveda shuttle for a burger run.

Break time at LAX Flagship Lounge

Not sure why, but every LAX to JFK flight tonight is delayed. There was only one agent working the desk of the Flagship lounge, so I found myself number 4 in line. Each time a new person requested help in switching aircraft, the agent waited to hear the request, and the first action she did each time was to call the supervisor complaining that there was a line, she was busy, and she was supposed to be on break. I could tell that the supervisor was telling her the regular AC lines were quite long as well, but that did not stop her from calling back each time the next customer approached.

If I ran my business that way, I'd soon have no clients. Don't you love whingers?

I'm not a fan of complaining about complainers. Sometimes, a smile and a bit of patience can work wonders.
