At DFW on Saturday night:
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, the 117th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark (Leader of the Coptic Christian Church).
No, I'm afraid I didn't know who he was but some people were awfully happy to see him. read about it in today's DMN.

Interesting about His Holiness Pope Shenouda III on Saturday. There was a religious dignitary on our DFW - SFO flight on Friday evening (Flt 399) which the flight crew said was from Egypt. Much picture taking (and security) at the gate in DFW and quite the reception at SFO. Lots of security at the gate and quite a crowd waiting for him post security. No one I asked knew exactly who he was though.

Sat directly behind the Rev Jesse Jackson in J for 16 hours on the DEL-ORD flight 01 FEB. I take it his upgrade to First did not come through although he was seen wandering around the F cabin just prior to take-off.
Several folks greeted him as they past through the cabin and he politely responded. Just prior to leaving he walked in between our seats and his and congratulated my wife (adorned in LSU gear) on the National Championship. Upon landing in Chicago he raised his arms in the air celebrating our arrival - then turned and stuck his fist out and we knocked fists - again with a comment on LSU football.
My brief claim to fame, knocking fists with the Reverend Jesse Jackson...

Most everyone's smaller in person than they look like on TV but he wasn't nearly as photogenic either: maybe the result of being the father of a six-week-old baby. Or maybe it's just that nobody looks good with a humungous diaper bag slung over their shoulder...

Michael Cain on a flight from MIA to LGA today.
He was behind me in the ungodly F security line at the D concourse, muttering (politely) along with everyone else about how slow the line was relative to all of the others.
Sat at the bulkhead in F. Stewardess didn't seem to notice him. Guy is taller than I expected him to be.

He looks to be in great shape, and he was hitting them out of the park at the SerieCaribe that weekend.
His seatmate very kindly loaned me a pen for my C&I paperwork.
They were well outfitted in LV and Gucci.
At the baggage claim he very agreeably had his pic taken with some very happy fans.

Judy Dench ("M" from James Bond flicks) Feb. 10 in Miami D A/C. Pretty certain it was her, but I didn't try to speak to her. Was escorted in by an AA "suit" guy.
