I'm now myself in the same boat of needing to initiate requesting the correct mileage on a flight due to the Class of Service bonus changes but I want to check my math on the RDM I received first because it seems like I'm missing something about how the bonus RDM is calculated. It's saying I received 2,454 base and 2,454 bonus for a total of 4,908 RDM on my LAX-EWR flight yesterday...I'm not even sure where it's coming from that the total RDM is just 2x the flight distance? I'm MVP (50% earning bonus) and this was a paid first class ticket (was F when I booked, now I fare class) and doesn't the Class of Service bonus apply equally to RDM?

So, one, I want to confirm that it should have been 2,454*1.5*1.5 = 5522 total RDM under the current rules and that I should be requesting 2,454*1.5*1.75=6442 total RDM based on the rules in place when I booked (incidentally the same as the total number of EQM I'm requesting since for the EQM calculation the 50% MVP RDM bonus gets replaced with the 50% EQM promotion). But two, I'm confused because it seems like 4,908 total RDM doesn't add up in any scenario? I would think 2,4908 would be what you'd get flying in coach LAX-EWR as an MVPG with the 100% earning bonus.

The 50% promotional bonus (stacked on COS) applies to EQM only. Currently, I fares earn a 50% EQM bonus which is both EQM & RDM.

RDM = 100% Base + 50% Base COS + 50% Base MVP Elite Bonus = 200% Base.

LAX-EWR : RDM = 2454 × 2 = 4908.

If you are seeking RDM based on the 75%* COS in effect at the time you purchased your ticket, RDM earned for a MVP Member would be 225% Base. You should accrue an additional 25% Base RDM.

*LAX-EWR : RDM = 2454 × 2.25 = 5522 (rounded up)

EQM with the 50% EQM Bonus & 75% COS bonus is 263% Base, at 50% COS Bonus you earned 225% Base.

EQM 50% Bonus LAX-EWR : 2454 × 2.25 = 5522
EQM 75% Bonus LAX-EWR : 2454 × 2.63 = 6454

Ah, thanks James, my confusion was that I thought the RDM bonus was also calculated by multiplying the bonuses like with EQM bonuses, so (base)*(class of service bonus)*(elite bonus), not (base)+(base*class of service bonus)+(base*elite bonus).

If AS was offering a 50% stacked RDM bonus, up to 4.5 RDM per mile flown for 75K, I would be flying everyday.

Well I knew the 1.5x EQM doesn't apply to RDM. Just didn't realize the way the EQM and RDM bonuses are applied is different.

Just got a polite but unequivocal "no" from Customer Care via chat for an I class ticket purchase in January and flown in May. I have two more pre-3/31 I class tickets for travel in July and August. Better to handle them one at a time or after I've flown all three?

Many thanks for your help!

As long as you’ve completed any reservation for which you need help it is no issue to handle it.

I also got a resolution on this thanks to Anteater and his Alaska contact, yesterday I got an email from Alaska telling me tough cookies on correcting it, I contacted Anteater right after I got that email, and the corrected EQM and RDM are now showing in my account. Thanks so much to both of you!

After my flight home last night I was ~1K short of 75K. AS had not given me the 75% bonus (only 50%) for three flights taken between March 31 & April 21. I contacted anteater and less than one hour later the miles had been adjusted and I am now a bit over 76K. Thanks anteater!!!
