How to find out what the meal service will be for a specific Alaska Air flight:
1) On the website, use the "Explore" tab and select "Flight Schedules" from the left-hand side of the drop-down menu.

2) Plug in your city-pair and your week of travel, and the site will pull up all of the Alaska Air flights for that week.

3) Find your flight number on the list. From there you can see what's offered for the meal service. There are two columns corresponding to first class and coach.
A) In first class the codes are (B-breakfast; L-lunch; D-dinner; S-snack).

B) For coach the section may be blank (meaning beverage service and for-purchase cold snack-packs). Or it may show "F" or "F,F" to indicate there are other items for purchase on longer routes like a cheese plate, or in some cases the Beecher's breakfast sandwich or one of the Tom Douglas items.

What *specifically* is offered in first class for B, L, D, or S is the source of much discussion in this thread.
Sometimes a S (snack) will seem more substantial than what's offered as L (lunch). That's where searching this thread can be of assistance.

As near as I can tell for the coach section:
Blank = snack packs only;
"F" = snack packs and cheese plates offered;
"F,F" = snack packs, cheese plate, plus one other item on offer.
Please feel free to edit if that assumption is not correct.

For anyone desiring a more structured or organized submission, here is a template (You'll need to add a / before the last bracketed B as in [/b]):

Pathetic that they did not offer a choice. I hope you will complain in writing.

I agree they should offer a choice, although it’s been over a decade since they offered a meal choice on midcon flights (with the exception of possibly offering a choice between cereal and a hot entree on morning flights).

I provide feedback via Alaska Listens every time I have a single-entree midcon flight in F, probably 15 or so times a year. I’ve not once received a response.

I whined about the food in F on GDL-LAX last March and got an apology and some type of e-cert....maybe $50?

11/23 (Thanksgiving) AS 34 SEA-ORD 10:04a departure.
PDB - bottled water at seat
Service began with hot nuts (served in a plastic ramekin) and drinks.
Lunch was a cold Thai Chicken salad with a warm roll and small packaged cookie. Included on the tray was a handwritten note with my name on it wishing me a happy thanksgiving. I thought this was a nice touch - it's a small gesture that makes the experience memorable. Service was excellent throughout the flight.

Several passengers complained about the lack of choices, and it looks like many refused the meal or asked for one of the coach items, which was offered as complimentary by the FA.

I found this meal meal to be decent - better than some of the recent items I've been served in F. I'm returning home on DL F so I'm interested to see how what they offer compares.

I'm flying this route in a few weeks and sure hope they've stepped up the catering a bit.

Choice of a hot turkey and cheese sandwich with a bag of chips and a packaged lemon bar, or not having a hot turkey and cheese sandwich with a bag of chips and a packaged lemon bar.

Water at seat PD. No snack basket, no nut service, just a Biscoff with the first beverage.

No video players on this route, either.

Pleasant crew. 5 stars for the crew. Wine was decent, and there was enough.

Very very weak.

This route, in both directions, is really subpar in front of the curtain.

Great Service from an experienced and pleasant FA Named Katherine.

Coffee or OJ as a pdb.

Drinks Promptly once airborne served with Biscoff.

Warm Aspargus Quiche W/ Creamy Bacon bit Potato Salad.

Side of sliced fruit. Funky Garnish.

Strange combo from my seat but surprisingly Tasty.

yes, the problem was likely that the restaurant is charging more than the $.35 that AS allocated to spend per pax on their F meals

That looks very tiny. By the time you get to DFW and get on your way, it's past lunch time. Why can't they serve a full sized meal that they have to understand will take the place of breakfast & lunch- and serve it maybe 2 hours after an early morning takeoff. The quiche we had on SMF-OGG was - I think- slightly larger, but not much. 9:59 a.m. departure should expect a full lunch. We were starving by the time we finished this almost 6 hr. flight. AS just gets worse and worse meal wise. Their ground staff and F/A's couldn't be nicer or more helpful.

I think maybe that is a matter of opinion or perspective, to me that meal is a great size (but I have a tiny tummy I guess)

AS 301 12/5/17 SFO-SEA 6:30 PM departure. For a sub 2 hour flight water and Biscoff at the seat for a pre-departure beverage. Snack was Sliced Salami, Caprese Salad, fresh basil, with a warmed Ciabatta Bun, a side of EVOO & Balsamic vinegar and a chocolate. The snack was quite good and the warmed Ciabatta bun was moist and delicious. Perfect size for a snack.

Date of Flight: 5th December, 2017
Flight Number and Route flown: AS389 SFO-PDX
Time of Departure: 6:00am
Length of flight: 1:29
Class of service: First
Pre-Departure Beverage service: Orange Juice, Coffee and Water
Meal served: Snack
Meal Description: Breakfast Burrito with fruit

Picture came out dark, since I had my flash off and it was still dark outside.

Date of Flight: 5th December, 2017
Flight Number and Route flown: AS131 PDX-ANC
Time of Departure: 8:30am
Length of flight: 3:56
Class of service: First
Pre-Departure Beverage service: Orange Juice, Coffee and Water
Meal served: Breakfast
Meal Description: Scrambled Eggs with Black Beans & Chicken Sausage or Granola

I was tired of eggs and not very hungry, so chose the cold option of Granola.

My seatmate chose the eggs and I tried to inconspicuously get a picture. He had already mixed the eggs, beans and sausage together.

Time of Departure: 1:00pm
Length of flight: 3:13
Class of service: First
Pre-Departure Beverage service: Open PDB

Meal Description: Quinoa Salad with Chicken and Double Crunch Brownie (No Choice)

The Caesar salad dressing made this meal great. Otherwise the quinoa was bland as hell. When mixed together it went down well with the chicken.

This was delicious.

Time of Departure: 10:55pm
Length of flight: 5:09

Meal Description: Not Sure
Additional Comments:There was a meal served but only 2 persons utilized it. The rest of us in FC went to sleep, including myself shortly after takeoff. I felt bad for the person across the aisle. He was seated next to a nice lady who loved to talk. From listening I learned that like me she was doing a mileage run and had started from Sacramento that morning. She was turning around at BWI to go to LAX after we landed.

** On a random note. I was on the same plane for 3 legs. What are the odds. SFO-PDX-ANC-SEA
