So i'm late to the party on this card, the GCR rebate is gone. Anyone know if they typically bring this back? Also for those in YYZ and have this card, how do you use the $99 annual companion voucher?

If going to the west, get to DTW and fly AS from there. We moved to YYZ from YVR in 2013 and have given companion tix to F&F last two years.

Been searching for the answer to this but no luck. Anyone know if the companion code disappears from your mileage account if you cancel the card? Ty for any replies!

Nope. Stays in your account for 12 months. I have had more than one in my MP account at one time, in the part.

Just wondering about people's churning strategies. I had three cards at one point. Got one in May of last year, August and then in December.

I cancelled the one I picked up last May about a month ago and now I'm down to 2.

Is there any reason why I can't apply for another right away? Or should I wait 6 months from my last cancellation?

Just wondering about other people's patterns. Thanks.

I wastold by a csa that if i reapplied within 3 months of closing my card that they would simply reactivate the same account. YMMV

Now that MBNA switched to TD's system, it's even harder to know what happens, or if we can hold 1+ cards at the same time

Presumably "yes". I applied post-conversion in December, was approved (instant, which wasn't the case both previous times in the old system). At the time I had two cards active.

I suppose the real test is if my next app, not for another three months, is approved.

I thought people would wait to apply after GCR MBNA cashback returns, free $60/$75 is better than $0 right now, even though $75 for 25K AS miles are dirt cheap

we're waiting, but i can see how some (particularly those applying every 3 months) might feel 25K for $75 is better than getting nothing while waiting

i feel it should be back soon, as I noticed the SmartCash and PlatinumPlus recently appeared on the GCR MBNA section
