NZ6 AKL-LAX on the 26th Aug

I had the lamb with broccolini for the main - was tender and the jus was great - ate light as I wanted to sleep.
Breakfast I had the waffles and the overnight oats

Food and Wine - 8/10 - I could not eat some of the fish items
Service on this flight was 10/10
Bed was 10/10 - slept 7+ hours solid

I'd attach a copy of the current TT BP menu but there were none AKL-SYD on Friday. More cost cutting?

I'll help you I recall the BP choices were:

1. Bagel with Egg (& Bacon?),
2. Fish cakes (heavy on the spud, light on the actual fish)
3. And a third 'forgettable' item

There was also the usual bakery items, fruits and bircher muesli.

ICN-AKL NZ76 Sep 2023

I was very surprised at the quality of the meal in all honesty. The beef with ssam sauce was nice. interestingly in a full 787 v1 J cabin, 10 portions beef are generally catered for people who are interested

breakfast though was a flop. literally the rosti option was 2 pieces of potato with a slice of smoked salmon, don't recommend. for some reason, only 1 pancake portion was loaded

Works meal SYD-WLG NZ248 02 Sep

Choices were announced on the PA: Lamb Shoulder, Chicken & Noodles, Vegetarian (tofu?).

I elected the Lamb, minted peas and baby sweet potato. Unfortunately it was tough and too salty. Very carb heavy with potato salad as the side.

Colleagues also had lamb and said it was fine. Unlucky me…

TT J from a couple of weeks back.

Paua saucisson. A for effort but dish was 5/10 if you don't like fishy food. Avoid.

Mozzarella. 6/10

Lamb neck did not sound appealing but chicken was very average 5/10

Chocolate cake 6/10

This looks like something of an improvement. Separate salad is a new thing, right?

Well, I had a separate salad HBA-AKL in late May, but not sure about ‘improvement’ per se…

WORKS meal HBA-AKL later May 2023

BNE Lounge 9/9/23

I don’t think I’ve been this shocked with the catering in the NZ lounge before… by 6pm the food started to run out!

At 6pm they had run out of the meat option, which was a pretty tough butter chicken.

The remains of the cold food selection and cheese select left a lot of shock!

The bread rolls tasted like they are from yesterdays stock.

The last two NZ flights leave at 19:20

I experienced a similar thing a year ago at BNE.

Worse, staff tried ‘BS’ing me by saying catering was timed to the last flight - but became aggressively defensive when I noted food was essentially gone but there were 2-3 flight that didn’t depart for over an hour….

Along with NZ148/200 never board on time, NZ148 generally doesn’t start boarding until between 6:50-7:00pm.

I though the NZ BNE lounge was a contract lounge to some airlines that depart post NZ148/200.
