Eating on NZ 23. YVR-AKL

Food quality is excellent. Service delivery is abhorrent.
Amouse Bouche, then 20 min wait for next course.
2:20 into flight for my main course to arrive, 2:40 and some still don’t have main course.
One FA running food.

Spoke with the ISM about this.
Fully acknowledged the meal service was not what it should have been, training new staff.
Breakfast service was excellent

Milkless

We were served powdered creamer CHC-IVC today due to a “supply chain issue”.

Sometimes I wish NZ would offer you the option, to have the meal served on a single tray together. As a more express option, it’s doable they do it in PE.

On some those Tasman flights, with a short flight tone back to NZ. It feels like the entire flight goes into a meal service, and you don’t get time to relax or work.

They have really improved

Have had the new menu four times now and all meals very good. On NZ284 now and excellent service and the salmon on Bok Choy is one of the best airplane meals I have had recently. (Makes the old seats a lot more tolerable)

Good to know. I’ll be on NZ280 in a few weeks so it’ll be good to see if they can maintain it. Although due to the late night departure I usually just have a starter and some cheese to finish before going to sleep.

Flying AKL-YVR in late Apr I also had salmon, which was very good.

However, the salmon was a protein addition to the super salad (not vv), which I didn’t fancy, so went with the garden salad from the steak. The presentation was underwhelming, but tasty enough.

Had a very nice vegan meal from CHC-SYD. Certainly an improvement from the meals six or eight months ago.
