I dont think a letter will arrive in 2014. The 10 years will have passed on 1 Dec 2014, so the letter should arrive at some time shortly before 1 April 2015, i.e. on the review date 10 years after your initial qualification.
This is my understanding of the situation. I'm in the same situation because I also got FP Rouge in Dec 2014. I asked FB to send me a confirmation email that states I will be granted Plat4life automatically after this year. After some back and forth they did actually send me such a confirmation email and I expect an official Plat4life letter some time at the beginning of 2015.

"As everybody" is for all FB members receving their new card in march.
I don't think I had a special recognition even if in september I flew enough to get another Plat status that I didn't need to become LTPE.

By the way, the FB profile page on AF website is misleading even for long time Plat for life.
On the Mileage Summary page is indicated :
even if the member reached Plat for life after that date.
For the record, 6th of June 2005 is the day after FB has replaced AF Fréquence Plus and KL Flying Dutchman (5th of June 2005).
On the Mileage Summary page is indicated :
Membership level : Platinum for Life Since 04-06-2005

I didn't think it could get more confusing, but it has. On the French site it now tells me "Félicitations ! À compter du 1er avril 2015, vous bénéficierez du statut de membre Platinum à vie."
But no such message on the English version. And why 2015?

PfL - positive experience
FYI I first qualified as FB Plat on 12 Dec 2003. Ended 2012 with fully earned Plat status so received a new FB Plat card in March 2013 valid for calendar year 2013.. Was concerned whether I would maintain Plat status in 2013 as I wasn't flying enough with AF/KL/SkyTeam in Aus/NZ, yet received an official response from FB confirming my enquiry whether I would be eligible to receive Platinum for Life. I valued the personal email response from FB Service Desk, nevertheless I was always apprehensive that the monthly FB status emails didn't seem to echo this - they always stated that I would need to fly 70k Miles / 60 flights to achieve Plat in 2013.
Nett result was that with the FB review email in Jan 2014, they confirmed that as I was holding a Plat status on the 10th anniversary of my initial 'ascension' to Plat, that I would gain PfL.
Final and (hopefully) concrete proof was the PfL card that came through the post five days ago.
I'm looking forward to being greeted as a considerable investor on AF/KL on my next flight with them ;-)

Whether that's anything to do with Northwest Gold for many, many years or the top tier for the old FD program, which again I had every year I don't know, or way over 1 Miilion miles actually flown....who knows/who cares ! (And I still struggle to get two decent Award Business seats to Down Under.) I was also thinking of trying to get 2 Awards xC to go around the World, but I think the hassle may give me a heart attack.

Having studied this forum extensively I believe I understand the rules to qualify for LTPE. Having said that I would not mind if someone would be able to confirm my understanding:
I have been Platinum since December 2005 which was the point at which I first qualified for Platinum within Flying Blue. This year I already have 61,000 miles earned (thanks to the roll-over rule) and am thus considering to concentrate on maintaining LH Senator status for the remainder of the year, however only if my understanding of LTPE are correct.
If I first qualified in 2005 then if I would qualify again in 2014, it would mean that I have qualified for 10 consecutive years, and I would have maintained Plat status for 10 consecutive years from Dec 2005 to Dec 2015, which would mean that I would be LTPE starting Jan 2016, without having to qualify for Plat status in calendar year 2015.
If I would have to qualify for Plat again in 2015 I would continue to fly long-haul mainly on Skyteam in 2014 and thus earn more miles that would then roll-over in 2015 for qualification foregoing my chance to extend LH Sen. Otherwise I would concentrate long haul on Star Alliance (mainly LH and United) and just qualify for the 70,000 miles on AF KL with a few more short hauls this year.
