CUN will now be served year round instead of winter season only. A COI-config is used on this route (14 NEV4 J seats). But, as part of this service extension, CUN will be served by a B772 from May 3 to Oct 8 with the following config : 28J 24W 260Y(source : Agent Connect)). So I believe this 28J, being the last one we learned on this forum for the 772, means BEST seats to CUN during this period

I was really tempted to select that option when I bought my ticket last night, but since its 6 months out and there could be equipment changes, I decided to go for KL 789 both ways...think I made the right call? Would have loved to try both AF and KL reverse herringbone but a bit too much uncertainty as SFO seems to be an 'unstable' destination when it comes to BEST/NEV4...
I think you made the right call. I booked a flight CDG-SFO at the end of the year. It wasn't worth it for me to connect through AMS or LAX. Will live with NEV4 and take the non-stop.

I've been tracking the SFO flights for a couple of weeks to see if there is any pattern and unstable is the right word. It looks like a full retrofit of the 773 planes used on this route is not happening. This has been widely confirmed.

So the only hope to get BEST on this route is through equipment substitution. Which seems to happen at least once per week. Usually on Tuesday and occasionally on Wednesday. On that day, it looks like they use a 772 with BEST.

Just to keep us on our toes, occasionally they will throw in a retrofitted 773 on another day.

Full disclosure, I only looked at about 3 weeks.

But this would seem to confirm the occasional reports of people getting BEST out of SFO.

Safe to assume F-GSPB was being retrofitted from NEV4 to BEST between Nov 17 through Dec 17?
According to this recent report, F-GSPB is BEST: http://flight-report.com/fr/report/2...-Vancouver-YVR

I have removed F-GSPB from the NEV4 list on the wiki.

Wow! No warm breakfast dishes for Lounge L , unlike M and K per the report.

That is a bit strange. I would not expect Cayenne to be premium heavy. I guess that French civil servants lobbied.
But with so many destinations having only NEV, that is really surprising.

How do you check, do a flight search and look for cabins with 1-2-1?

Of course if the booking is months out, they could change planes on you ...

if you search for flights on AF website, there is a logo "design+" IIRC for flights operated with a BEST cabin.

YUL-CDG AF345 on FEB13 showed BEST all the way to 6 hours to departure. Now operated by F-GSPM. Not happy.

At this rythm we may well see all French DOM-TOMs be served by BEST...

Looks like they will be using the 772 with 28 seats in Business.

Thanks for the response, and confirming my suspicion that SFO is pretty unstable when it comes to BEST rostering...Reading the last few posts, now they are sending BEST planes to the caribbean and holiday destinations? Has management completely lost the plot?!

I fear the problem with SFO-CDG is that it's served only by AF and United nonstop. And United business class is crap.
