Now my dilemma will be: Pre-flight dinner at JFK, arrivals lounge, and straight to work, or dinner on the plane, arrive at ORY, and take a short power nap at home before going to work.

Maybe out of topic but the other fleet threads have not been active for a long time now.
Has anyone noticed the unusual equipment swap in the CDG-JFK route? AF22 in March will be an A340, which I have not seen in this route for a long time. Then, starting in April until the end of the summer, there will be 2 A380 flights (the usual AF6 and then AF10).

The difference of interior between the usual A330 and the A340 isn't huge as far as I can tell, similar configuration only a difference in J number of seats mostly.
The 2 A380 on the other hand seems like an interesting move. I will keep an eye on the loads to see if it's because they don't know where to use the A380 or if it's because there's a real need.

Yep, I noticed the A340 and the 2 A380 too.

For the 2 A388, yes this was announced by AF in december. And I believe the reason might be a combination of the 2 you mentioned (no better use elsewhere and traffic to JFK potentially justifying the mega jumbo). But the pity for such a premium route is to have potentially a vastly inferior J product with NEV3 or 4.

I think AF022/023 is currently served by an A332. So the A340 is just an upgauge for the Y cabin at a more busy period and the A332/343 have a common cockpit, so the same pilots at AF can fly both types indifferently.

I was also happy to find out that my booking on AF22 in April will be on a 772. Although I'm not a big fan of the breakfast, the fact that it will be BEST and not NEV4 is enough.

I see that AF 82 CDG-SFO (772) has BEST J on Wednesdays and Fridays in the summer schedule...
I was really tempted to select that option when I bought my ticket last night, but since its 6 months out and there could be equipment changes, I decided to go for KL 789 both ways...think I made the right call? Would have loved to try both AF and KL reverse herringbone but a bit too much uncertainty as SFO seems to be an 'unstable' destination when it comes to BEST/NEV4...

I don't want to hijack the wrong thread but I'm trying to find the place with info regarding Classe Affaires seat on a 777-200ER, and this is the best I could find!
Trying to know what would be to best seats to sit with someone - accross the aisle or side by side in the center.
If you'd be kind enough to let me know where to find this piece of information!
Thanks!

Across the aisle is frown upon by most other PAX and rightly so. We do not want to know everything about your mother in law or your last intestinal problem.
So unless you intend to comunicate with each other by sign language, the only respectful choice to make is side by side.
Furthermore, it is much easier to talk to the other one than across the aisle.
