Question - flying AF19 in J in August (new 1/2/1 config); ticket is not showing any meal service. That can't possibly be correct, right?

Someone implied that not all SFO and CDG flights have BEST because SFO wasn't really a premium destination for AF. LAX would be more of a premium destination.

But even LAX doesn't get all BEST flights.

So is there a US destination premium enough for AF to get their best J product?

someone should read again the posts because someone did not correlate BEST with "most premium" routes. The "less premium" for SFO was a just a response from someone to jamespvg comment who was saying that SFO was a premium route. In term of yield, SFO has always been a low yield destination in North America for AF. I know this is true also for other airlines. I always found this odd knowing the businesses present in the area, including Silicon Valley.
If you want to find a correlation between something and AF BEST presence, clearly, we have never found one here. AF has been very slow to retrofit the 777 fleet and this concerns only a part of the fleet, so obviously plenty of destinations see no BEST at all or only on some selected flights, whatever they are considered premium or not.

I was looking today at flights ATL-CDG, and it looks like AF 688/689 in the autumn timeframe might be going back to BEST (772) based on the seat map provided.

HAV now sees the BEST J on some days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday)
AF820 CDG 13:15 HAV 17:15
AF825 HAV 19:40 CDG 10:45 +1

I have to say that the recently announced BEST routes are rather strange and you can really wonder if there is a well defined strategy...
indeed we have now HAV, recently CUN, CAY, ... MLE (new route) will have the BEST seat too. But, otherwise, plenty of heavy-business oriented destinations and with intense competition see no or limited BEST cabins (JFK has now only one BEST flight only I think, IAD only one out of 2, ORD none, GIG none, SCL partial, etc etc).
Add to this the recent decision of AF to retrofit the 77W in COI config with a new J seat (not the BEST seat, another model), but still no decision taken to retrofit the 77W in config 42J (NEV4)...?
If there is someone who understand AF strategy, please let me know, because I am lost...

Hopefully the Best website (http://best.airfrance.com) is here to keep us up to date.

Both hard and soft product consistency is lacking as of now. Since AdJ left basically, the effort on the product is not coordinated anymore...

actually (I'm talking about business class), you can find up to 3 (and 4 in a close future with the retrofit of the 332 fleet) versions of the hard product,
+
different kinds of the soft product :
> ultra-business
> business "classic"
> business COI and some other leisure destinations (BKK, YUL) operated with 77W 14J
> "business COI" -like on some destinations operated with 772 28J depending on the "Compo Peq" such as ICN, YVR, etc.
not easy to understand on a marketing point of view...

To be fair, I don't think you can compare those 2 ones. The 28J config you quote is with the BEST seats, but in a middle-size cabin so certainly not "COI-like".

just wanna do a quick check. seems like AF only flies one direct flight a day SIN-CDG and vice versa, AF257 AF256

from the wiki, and a quick search on the web, it seems like this route has already been fully converted to BEST seats? from the limited flight history i could see, it seems to be the case, without last minute swaps.

CDG-SIN was even the 1st BEST route with P. It's been BEST consistently since the beginning.

I was talking about the soft product...Depending on the CompoPeq in J (2 PNC only in 772 28J to some destinations like ICN or YVR, 3 PNC on other destinations), you have the choice among 3 or 4 main courses ....
