STL restarted yesterday. It isn't as glamorous as Osaka but not having to connect via ORD (like I did flying home from STL on UA yesterday) but nice to see some of those smaller routes returning

Meant to say ZRH is expected to have reduced frequency (not removed) with KIX seemingly taking over on the same 788 aircraft. So YVR-ZRH will go to 3x weekly, YVR-KIX will be 4x weekly.

Supposedly schedule is set for later in the summer and is preliminary. The other info bit I got is that YVR-KIX will take on new flight numbers AC17/18.

Also at least in November the 788 was replaced by the 333 on the YYZ-YUL-MXP route.

Looks like AC has added the 787 back on the YVR-YOW route in the early fall, at least for some dates I checked in mid September. 787-9 this time as opposed to the 787-8 they had on it last summer.

I just noticed that YVR-EWR direct is no longer on a 787, but a 738 Max! Yikes! I hate that aircraft! Does anyone here know when or if AC is going to resume using the 787 on its YVR-EWR route?

Thank you!

What's the reason for AC using a 738 Max for its summer schedule? Not enough demand for this route?

I’m not a network planner for AC, so I have no idea.

The changes to YVR-ZRH seem to have been implemented. My upgraded flight in October has now been rerouted through YYZ. The last YVR-ZRH I could find was on Sept. 10th.

Any bets on when the winter schedule will be revealed? We are booked YYC-YVR-OGG-YVR-YYC Nov 27- Dec 8
all segments on Max 8. Really hoping they will bring back the 789 flts out of YVR and/and the morning departures out of YVR
(which I believe last year were on Max's) but ideally an am departure on a 789 with a chance for an upgrade to PY would be Nirvana.
We would rebook to have that. We are on Comfort fares so it can be done!

I'm resigned to the fact that the YYC-OGG direct flights will be on Max's. No PY so its an exit row or J. Or do the YVR shuffle.
Fingers crossed

Aloha

Yup. Not optimal.
My Sept 15 (business) flight ZRH-YVR was cancelled and rerouted through YYZ.

I only picked ZRH for my entry point for this flight because there was a direct from YVR. I kept my favourite 2K on both legs, though, and the flight arrives ZRH at around the same time, so I will likely keep it.

Same, my flight in September also changed from 2 connections now, to 3 (via YYZ). There's a shorter routing on LH but no award space so looks like I'm stuck with this for now.

The winter 2022 placeholder schedule shows the YYZ-LHR day tripper returning on October 31. How confident are we that it'll actually return for the winter season vs being punted until next summer?

No one can really know. We've been wondering for two years! But I guess we could say it's more likely to return in 2022 than it was in 2021 or 2020, for whatever that's worth. AC is definitely getting much closer to resuming a full schedule.
