A330-300 Fleet Overview
AC currently has two configurations of 333:
- Dream Cabin (16 aircraft): Latest 3-class configuration in line with the 787 and 777 fleets (seat map)
- The "Merlions" (2 aircraft): ex-Singapore Airlines 2-class configuration (seat map), which are expected to be reconfigured to the Dream Cabin.
- Important note: the front cabin on these aircraft is an angle-flat product in a 2-2-2 layout that was SQ's "regional" business class. On flights within North America, AC sells it as J; on international flights, they sell it as PY. These aircraft do not have the standard AC PY cabin
- Since October 2023, these aircraft primarily operate YYZ>BOG>YUL triangle, and YUL<>LAX.

AFAIK, yes.
It’s safe to bet that all will be done by the end of the year.

All the seat maps (AFAIK) out at the end of the year are showing the old config, so they have no bearing on what you'll end up on.

Well, I flew the reconfigured A330 to and from Florida this weekend in J and PY. First impressions... pretty good!
For J, it's basically an improved version of the 777/787 seat, just with a bit less space. Overall I wouldn't say it's any better or worse than those seats, unless traveling in a pair and selecting D/G seats, where the flexible divider is great.
PY is just better than that of the 787/777 all around. More storage, better screen, more comfortable seat (and especially headrest)... not a whole different league, but definitely a step up. I'm 6'1 and had no problem getting comfortable and sleeping, even without a pillow or blanket.
Obviously, Y is a lot better than on the Boeing widebodies, especially for those travelling in pairs.

FIN 941 came back from QPG on March 11 (Wiki updated). There is only one frame left in all cargo configuration and 5 of 8 of the former SQ birds and 6 of 8 of AC's original birds have now been refurbished.

For flights between LA-YYZ on the A330, which door does AC usually use to board the plane? Also is one of the lavatories in J larger? Seems like the one upfront by the cockpit will be larger than the two rear lavatories.

Pretty sure they always use the second door. Those in J turn left on entry and those in Y don't even pass through the J cabin. This is the case at all airports AC flies the A330 to AFAIK.

Believe that all of the wide bodies have the ability to connect to a dual jetway where both L1 and L2 are used - L1 for J and L2 for everyone else. Airports that have single jetways would most commonly use L2.

Yup, you're right. I haven't seen them connect both jetways very often, though I don't doubt that they would do it where it can happen. I can't imagine it speeds up the boarding process much like it does on the A380...

I've been on several wide-body flights to YYZ where we deplaned using L1 only (meaning everyone passed through the J cabin on their way out).
I believe the gates were D43, D44 or D45.

It was massively out of date, with a bunch of irrelevant information about the SQ layout and the old refurb that added PY. It carried a notice that @yyznomad would update it by mid-2020. So I nuked it. If there was anything that wasn't old and totally useless in there, feel free to restore those portions.

What refurbishment portion? When I skim read it, everything I saw was the refurb to add PY (completed years ago) and a zillion details on the ex-SQ cabins, which are all gone. If I missed something that was current and useful, you have far more than the requisite 90 days and 90 posts on FT to edit the wiki...

I thought there are still 2 birds out there in the Classic Pod config (FIN 931 and another one???)
