A330-300 Fleet Overview

AC currently has two configurations of 333:
  • Dream Cabin (16 aircraft): Latest 3-class configuration in line with the 787 and 777 fleets (seat map)
  • The "Merlions" (2 aircraft): ex-Singapore Airlines 2-class configuration (seat map), which are expected to be reconfigured to the Dream Cabin.
    • Important note: the front cabin on these aircraft is an angle-flat product in a 2-2-2 layout that was SQ's "regional" business class. On flights within North America, AC sells it as J; on international flights, they sell it as PY. These aircraft do not have the standard AC PY cabin
    • Since October 2023, these aircraft primarily operate YYZ>BOG>YUL triangle, and YUL<>LAX.

Another thing I noticed with the A330 refurbs were the window positioning's. Obviously 8A/K no windows. But the best seats with the most perfectly aligned windows would go to 1A/K, 5A/K. 6A/K also pretty nice. I think I'm a little OCD, but I don't like half of my two windows being cut off by the J pod. Need them both fully visible lol

Nope. And I agree, it would have been nice for them to deal with that and the bins while doing the refurb. It's an underwhelming experience in many ways.

Only the 220 has USB-C, the 737 while very similar is limited to USB-A connector only

ya checked my photos from my only 737 flight again and I remembered wrong. not having air vents is annoying but i think it will be better to take a 330 in economy over a 787 or 777.

SQ A330s featured a 32'' seat pitch in Y whilst AC only offers 30-31''

Currently sitting aboard C-GEGP (Fin 942), operating AC865 LHR-YUL. (Looks like the same bird will also operate my AC421 YUL-YYZ later.)

This is my first time flying a refurbished A330. What do folks here think of the seats? They seem more cramped (and the screen seems smaller) than those on the 787/777.

As an aside, the food on this flight was pretty brutal.

I had fin 939 as my ride home last week, operating AC811 LIS-YYZ. The signature seats are a little different than those in the 787/777 but I didn't find it any less comfortable. What did surprise me was that AC kept the original overhead bins, with no overhead air vents. They're noticeably smaller than those in the 787/777.

Wiki is updated:

933 - arrived in QPG Nov 24/21 for likely mod

936 - arrived in HKG Nov 27/21
944 - back from HKG and into service Nov 28/21

There are now 8 frames with the mod complete, 2 in service in the old configuration, 4 in cargo configuration, and 2 being modded/maintenance.

FIN935 flew NRT-QPG on Oct 4, although it looks like it repositioned to XSP as some point, perhaps on Oct 8, but the FR24 data is not clear.

Haven't even pushed back. Would not fly again

Bins are tiny. I'm glad I isn't too full. There's much less storage space at the seat.

The seatbelt and condom cannot be used simultaneously.

The only redeeming feature is the USB-C port.

We'll see how I feel when I land.
