Try to book a flight from YOW to SIN then NRT or KIX and finally a stop in GVA.

I have been quoted flight through Newark for Singapore and no matter flights I chose from SIN to Japan and back to GVA and YOW, I am not allow to do it I am shy of few hundred miles.

Any idea or tip to make it happen?

Thanks in advance

What did not work? The outbound or the return? What routings did you try?

Thank you for getting back to me .

The routing was:
YOW-EWR-SIN with UA or through London and or FRA.
The mileage was around ~11,000 miles (quoted).

On my way back, stopping in SIN-OSA or SIN-NRT and then NRT-MUN-GVA or via IST and GVA-YUL-YOW was not allowed for few miles.

ICN instead of Japan was accepted though. FUK was OK theoretically but since it is not a main hub, the extra connections to reach GVA added extra miles and it was refused.

My plan is to go in SouthEast Asia in Feb/Mar 2016 then Japan in April and then Europe from May 2016.

As a note, they allow me to stop in Japan on my way to Singapore and then back to GVA, but that means I will be in Japan during winter ...

Thanks

Wow, that's annoying.

My usual redemption used to be YUL-SIN, stop, SIN-(Japan), stop, Japan-Europe. Guess that's dead now. So you were allowed to do something like YOW-FRA-KIX-SIN, SIN-GVA, GVA-YOW?

I read many people did it in the past and I used that as a reference for pushing Aeroplan CSR to find a way. He was not too cooperative to search all possible routes.

So if you have any route that works in the past I may try .

My approved route is:

YOW-EWR-NRT with UA
NRT-SIN direct with Singapore Air
SIN-ZRH-GVA with Swiss
GVA-YUL-YOW or GVA-VIE-YYT-YOW with AC

for ~CAN$450 (taxes and surcharges) in Economy.

I just called for my YUL-DPS. 16,240 Miles permitted ... Much higher than the previous 14,324 over the Atlantic or 12,879 over the Pacific!

Haven't tried it but there are paid fares now available via the Atlantic. For example there is a YVR-HKG fare that allows a MPN of 13,633 miles.

I think the new MPM's for cities close to each other is actually a lot better than the previous system. I booked CPH-VIE-FRA-MUC-SFO-YVR, which is 20/25M.

Got a new pair MEL - YVR which is 13160. That also means a MEL-SIN-TPE-LAX-YVR routing is over. Boo.
