Does that qualify for posting here or would you prefer I post it somewhere else?

Anybody can post here But your situation is not what the thread is about, as that situation has allowed for PreCheck for ~6 months IIRS. This recent change allows people flying AC metal access to the lanes.

Ok...but it was for AC flight numbers...it was the first time I've seen pre. Haven't flown from any locations where passengers on AC metal have access to precheck lanes yet.

TSA drone at JFK tried to cheat me out of Precheck just now.
I presented my pass, she did her scribbles and I asked where the Precheck line was. She said only United was eligible from T7. I said no, AC is as well and she was like "Hun, I know the rules." I point out there's a "TSA Prechk" on my boarding pass, and she scanned it and sure enough, three beeps came up. She begrudgingly handed me the pass to use the WTMD.
Still had to take my laptop out, but no NOS scan or need to remove my shoes. Still a massive improvement from having to opt-out. ^

Agent is so misinformed. Even the TSA site is updated to reflected AC participation in JFK.

The first was in fall 2012, and I've had it on every United flight since then.

Yeah, I think you're right. Thinking about it, my first time was about May last year but I hadn't flown UA in a while prior to that.

Have you made sure the names on all your cards match exactly? Also, I used to get pre check everytime when I flew UA, but never US ( when they were star). I finally called US and tried having them enter my nexus number over the phone, to see if that made a difference. Ever since then, pre check worked with every flight on US too. No idea if that truly made a difference, or if it was just a coincidence, but hey it's worth a try. Good luck!

So did you or did you not get Pre✓ given you had to take your laptop out?

I still was made to take my laptop out. Apparently JFK T7 doesn't have a dedicated Pre line - I saw other UA flyers with Pre who also had to do the same (but at least shoes, jacket, etc. stayed on.)

You experienced what some on FT call "PreCheck Lite." It is offered at a number of screening locations that do not feature a PreCheck lane or do not have it operating at all times. Passengers who are eligible for this benefit are either given a laminated card or have it noted on their BPs. It applies to the screening of the passenger (WTMD, shoes, jacket) but not his or her baggage (liquids and laptop out).

So, story of my life...
I was taking the 1725 SFO-YVR flight, and my OLCI BP said I had to reprint it at the airport for Pre✓.
I was pretty excited.
So around 1445, a few of us at work decide to play a board game we all enjoy.
1532, I look at the time, shout "OH F***", get up, grab my bags, and run out the door. 1542, I'm in a car driving toward SFO. Traffic. Ugh. 1635, I drop the car off (BMW DriveNow, if anyone's familiar with that program), and am waiting for a shuttle to the airport.
Dropped off at the international terminal at the entrance near the G gates around 1647. Boarding starts in 3 minutes. I decided not to run to AC check-in and back.
So woe is me, I had to endure the regular priority line, got drenched in sweat from running anyway, one of the last to board the flight. Sitting in 1D, my bag was above row 33. And someone else was in my seat
This is all AC's fault, and I'm going to make a 9 minute YouTube video about how awful AC is for not having a check-in counter near security, for not having Pre✓ on the OLCI BP, for not escorting me to the front of the security line, for not using a closer gate to security (it was G97 instead G91 like I usually use), and for not saving overhead bin space for a Super Elite sitting in J. I mean, the nerve! COME ON AC.
But seriously, no. I should stop playing board games before I need to leave for a flight
