Yes, the taxes and fees on YVR-LHR, LHR-YVR were $996.00, but if I am not able to get a 2nd reward seat and have to purchase a revenue one as global_happy_traveller said, it will cost me a lot more as an open jaw.

Interestingly, Aeroplan is "unable" to show the breakdown of these taxes and fees right now.

Have 2 RTW tickets issued with 2 of 7 segments confirmed J seats on AC metal. All tickets issued in "I" class, all other seats confirmed in business
Will be calling 3 other star alliance carriers for seat assignments^

did my NH and SQ seat assignments when i was in NRT and SIN lol

I would go YVR AMS to save on the taxes.
From AMS take a boat to LHR, or take a BA flight for €5.

how does that save on taxes???

The tax is departing not arriving LHR...

Regardless of if they allow changes at the "promo" number of points, I believe a ticket can only be used for a flight up to 1 year from ISSUE. So you won't be able to push this ticket into 2013.
