Just booked a one-way J :
YUL-FRA AC J
FRA-SIN SQ J (A380 )
SIN-MEL SQ J
54000 miles +480$ (incl. 350 YQ )
I cannot book a return trip as it is in november 2012. But now I'm sure I will be able to book my return for 80000 (will try to fly AZ J), without paying changing fees, and I won't have to pay SQ YQ if ever it comes.

And even with J-one way fare I save 1000 AE miles

Pay for the points, transfer some in from AMEX, etc etc. Just go book now!

Well I decided to do an impromptu trip to Europe in LX F. I was so impressed by LX F on my first Mini-RTW figured it was worth 30K more points to Europe. Didn't want to do Asia as it adds a significant amount of travel time. Anyone got suggestions for where to go in Europe in February?

Will see if they honour it I suppose, if they don't no loss for me... I'll just have the points refunded.

How are folks managing to book trips without calling in? Multi-city only offers you 3 segments. I am trying to get to SIN. I found some dates where I can do YYZ-YUL(AC)-ZRH(LX)-BKK(TG)-SIN(TG) by putting in YYZ-ZRH and ZRH-SIN as my first 2 segments. So for my final segment I input SIN-YYZ and the website only offers me AC options in economy on the transpac. Can't use IKK without increasing the miles significantly. Any ideas?

got lucky to find CO and TK space. As I've already proven, the website pushes flights with surcharges now, as it always pushed AC flights first.

You've to be flexible with your dates. I just booked a friend on the other direction. First to SIN, then to Europe before going back home.

just booked a short haul to the east coast that i have to take this summer. I checked the flights against AC and it was a good enough value to cash in a few points.

I called too. They said that it's a "promo" too and advise to not change the flight to not have to pay extra miles
(notice that I don't speak about this before she said me that)
