Just flew YOW-YYZ with a VIP and guest boarded first and rather obviously in front of everyone, by two concierges, then met at YYZ by two more concierges and walked to the international gates. No BMW shuttle. On walk, since I was going that way anyway, I couldn't help overhear that conversation was whether they wanted to board international flight first, or go to lounge and board last. I think I'd have noticed this if I'd run across it before.

Not sure why it takes two concierges, but I guess it explains why they can be hard to find sometimes. Miaow.
You don't have to be a VIP to get the double concierge escort from domestic to intl. But no, it's not typically because they are in training.

From the LinkedIn profile of the newly former "Director of VIP & Global Concierge Services" for Air Canada.

One thing we now know for certain, is that this program is Calin's personal reach around service.

Air Canada vip?

how come sometimes when I am flying there is a stewardess that walks a particular passenger on the plane, helps he or she with his luggage, gets his meal order, offers a snack before takeoff, etc?

I am super elite and never had that. Is there something higher and how does one get that service? Are these for Fortune 500 vips?

thanks in advance.

I saw VIP tags once nearly two years ago on YYZ PVG, and I think it's rare enough that both the MLL and Gate agents were talking about it.

It was pure black with no patterns, personally find the design minimalistic but ugly at the same time lawl

I dont think you can get it through normal channels, I certainly noticed MLL agent being significantly more active when servicing the person with VIP status and his family, even offering a ride to the plane(was it BMW or a cart to the gate? Idk...)

You do not 'get it'. It is conferred by AC to senior politicians, CEOs and decision makers with a high spend with AC. At least that's my understanding.

I was on a flight to YOW the other day, and there was a Senator on the flight (who shall remain unnamed). As we prepared to deplane, the flight attendant called up to the gate to indicate that a concierge be sent down because 'we have a VIP'. Also saw this happen for former Premier and at the time High Commissioner Campbell when we shared a flight.

Yeah, I've told this story before here, but I was on a flight to SFO (or was it LAX? somewhere in California anyway) from YYZ when they boarded a VIP first, and then called zone 1, but there was an issue with the plane so they held us in the jetbridge for a bit. I was the front of zone 1, so I was standing behind said VIP, who turned out to be the CEO of Canadian Tire heading to his vacation home in California.

I believe this has been around for quite a few years. I vaguely remember, perhaps ten years ago, we were looking at selecting a "preferred airline." Package offered included a few VIP spots I believe.

And how close are you to lifetime status Mr. Jack?

Closer than me I'd venture. I do wonder if maybe AC offers it for 4MM or the 5MMer? All bow to him.

Gotta have something more than gifting at those levels, at least while they are so rare. MM will indeed be meaningless when I get there in maybe 50 years
