There is no AC VIP baggage tag. I do believe there is a VIP Altitude tag though. Can anyone confirm/deny?

Some senior politicians may be VIPs but that does not mean that VIP status is conferred on every Minister, etc. It is more usual that executives of AC commercial partners (think Fairmont) or very high value customers (i.e controlling significant spend) may be offered it. And VIP treatment can be given to people who aren't in the VIP program but who are..well..VIPs.

I've seen the bag tag. Nothing like sitting in the YYZ concierge office for over three hours to see everything from "I used to be SE so can I have your phone number" to "I'm not even going to say anything because you know who I am" (he literally said nothing, but he had the black VIP tag on his backpack).

VIPs also get an Altitude style package and have similar perks as SE but with a bit more juice.

I've sat next to VIPs on flights. One time I saw BS even boarded with one.

(oh gee yyznomad, how do you know? Are you making an assumption? Maybe they are just dressed nice? Maybe they verbally said they are VIP but weren't actually VIP?)
RCHHMP can fill in the "how do you really know" blanks.

And btw, all you SE dingleberries, once you sit next to VIPs on flights, you'll quickly realize that SE means mainly lip service. It's a humbling experience.

There are way more UA GS than AC VIP and AC VIP truly get the kid glove treatment - a lot more than just boarding before everyone else. I was chatting with a guy who worked for Exxon Mobil on oil platforms off Russia (not in a management role). He flew back and forth to Sakhalin Island enough that he was given GS. That simply would not happen with AC VIP.

How dare you imply SEs are not unique snow flakes. I thought my $20,000 spending meant the world to AC and was a huge impact to their bottom line.

And do you talk to them? They've all been very approachable for me...

Why would you pass up an experience to chat with an AC identified VIP?

Sorry for the quality. Everyone was moving, and I had to zoom.

This is what the current (or maybe last year's) tags look like.

No, I don't talk to them, but that's me.
In fact, I really don't like talking to anyone before a flight, during a flight, and after a flight, unless I'm traveling with them.

What AC status is this?

My friend booked me an award ticket on AC and in the Frequent Flyer box on the boarding pass, it said:

+VIP+ - AC*G

I will say I've never quite had an experience like that. They called me up and told me I could board whenever I wanted and escorted me with placards that had VIP printed on them.
