post 140 (in between your posts 139 & 143) in this thread should answer your question.

I was just referring to the mmer and SE comparison on the treatment and upgrade queue..

My point is that 3mm would arguably be treated the same (or even better) as SE, whereas the mmer would probably not be treat the same

Thanks for the welcome . Its a sweetener they use on large purchasing agreements with corporate accounts. I work for a company that has a "deal" with AC. It used to be equivalent to AC E but they just upgraded it to SE equivalency. Only 2000 VIPs total. But I think the exclusivity is driven by the number of corporate purchasing agreements they have.

That actually seems like a pretty big number given that there are only supposedly ~10,000 SE's.

Not so much when you think that these are not earned status so they can distribute a lot more easily. 100 corporate deals with 20 freebies to give away as favours by the client's purchasing department and you are there.

And probably a lot of them are VIP Es rather than VIP SEs.

I would think SEs are still higher than VIP Es.

Two levels of VIPs.. what are the corporate purchases thresholds to obtain these statuses?

This makes sense for AC to offer as it caters to the needs of corporations.. little incentives to keep the business at the airline..

Hmm.. do you know though if that is because of VIP or some type of contract SUN TV has?

Maybe not. What fare were you on? Unless you were on Lat Y, she could have had a higher fare. I'd say that VIP is equal to SE.

Normally SE Tango+ should be higher than E Lat, correct? If so then She must be either SE or VIP trumps SE or she had higher fare as SE.

Looks like 2012 brought new branding to the VIP program as well
