Service in the J cabin was reasonable at first and then the FA stayed a fair bit in the galley. I had to use the call button for the first time in a long time. I also want to point out that there is some confusion with staff around whether or not you can have your status show up on the BP/PIL for reward flights. After I didn't see it on the first flight, I called and asked at the gate to have it added and was told this wasn't possible. Then it finally gave me the option on the last leg of the trip to enter my AP # on OLCI, so it seems it is possible. I think it makes a difference in service and for that it's worth something to me. |

I always had either a full glass, or meal/snack being served. I didn't wait for anything! How was the quality of all the meals? I enjoyed the pasta (again). No. Quite disappointed actually, since he offered some people and not me and my GF. Yes we were badly dressed. Kind of, there was only one check-in agent and he spent quite a bit of time helping out a pair of pax at the self-serve kiosk. I had to wait in line! :td: Did you use priority security (if eligible) and if so, was it quick and efficient? Yes. The priority security line was empty ... I could feel the glare of the proletariat flying AA in that other line. Also, it looks like AC shares the security checkpoint with AA? PROTECT OUR CHECKPOINT FROM UA!! After I cleared security, I walked over to the UA area and omfg their security checkpoint was completely clogged. Suggestion: consider expanding the priority security from only J to J and AC*E/SE? Did you use the Maple Leaf lounge and if so, any feedback in regards to service, food and drinks? Wanted to try out the SQ lounge, but it wasn't open yet (they open around when my flight boards?). Went to the domestic RCC ... they seem less crowded than the YYZ t/b MLL o_o Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient? ^ we even pre-pre-boarded before the wheelchair/old people/families with small children. So if I were to read between the lines....they were worried that that would need to do a manual demonstration instead of the video? Doesn't seem like a good reason to keep the IFE off to me!!!!!!! So we did and then waited 15 minutes as nobody was at the gate If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? There was a delay after we boarded. Seems a flight from Montreal was delayed due to the weather, and there were 15 people connecting on our flight. We were told it would be 20 minutes. 1 hour and 15 minutes later the PAX’s from that flight finally boarded. Bread was fresh, Smoked Salmon was thinly sliced, Ice dream was as hard as cement, but thawed in a few minutes Breakfast Omelette was nice, Croissants where fresh, Only bad thing, No Cookies….. Date: Dec 14, 2010 Cabin: Y Status: none Pre departure Check-in online, and bag drop at the airport was pretty smooth. Security screening was very quick, and no cavity searches. Delay after boarding as we sat for an hour while they loaded "priority cargo". No further explanation from the crew. Arrived in YVR over an hour late, and departed for long trip to SYD 75 minutes late. Arrived 40 minutes late in SYD. Onboard - Y cabin: Were the crew professional & well groomed? Yes, If there was a delay, were you provided with timely updates? Not really. Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service/Onboard cafe to begin? 45 minutes, max. Don't remember.. How was the quality of the meal/Onboard cafe? Buy your own. Got $9 credit per pax in my family for snacks. Opted for chips to eat later. Did the cabin crew offer water regularly throughout the flight? Yes. Post departure If you have checked baggage, did it arrive within reasonable period of time? Yes, very fast in SYD Overall experience/any other comments Food service. Meals to SYD from YVR. Within 90 minutes of departure, served hot lunch. Totally not hungry because it is like 5:00am EST in my head. I think it was beef or chicken, rice, pasta. Food isn't bad, but I actually like airplane food, so I have low standard. :D "snack" halfway to SYD was a cold chicken salad on a bun. Drink service a couple of times, but they leave you to sleep for a long time. Two hours before arrival, served hot breakfast, coffee, etc. Overall, not a bad flight in Y cabin. Lots of water service, and if you are hungry, hit the galley at the back for pretzels, leftover desserts, sandwiches, etc. Flight crew did a good job, and they try to get you used to SYD time from the moment of departure. |

Yes. The "express" lanes for customs and security at SYD are awesome. Did you use the Maple Leaf lounge and if so, any feedback in regards to service, food and drinks? Yes (the Air New Zealand lounge). Was quite impressed with the range of food and drinks. Far superior to the MLLs. The hot dog cart was a nice touch! Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient? Yes If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? Yes Onboard - J cabin: Were the crew professional & well groomed? [B]YesN/A Was the IFE activated on the ground? Yes but it had to be completely reset before we took off so it was down for ~15 minutes. Was a pre-departure beverage offered on the ground? Yes Did crew offer to hang your jacket? N/A Were newspapers & menus distributed and meal orders taken (Please specify when meal orders were taken - on the ground or in the air)? Newspapers, yes. Menus, no. Orders were taken in the air. Did crew offer a hot towel prior to the meal service? Yes Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service to be completed? (From takeoff to all items collected) ~180 Minutes How was the quality of all the meals? Excellent. The SYD catering was definitely above average. Lamb was superb. Did the cabin crew continiously top up the beverage of your choice throughout the flight? Yes Post departure If you have checked baggage, did it arrive within reasonable period of time? No. I was stuck inside the YVR transborder connections area for an hour! Why YVR changed to this "we'll take a picture of your bag" system is beyond me. I am continuously delayed in this horrible transfer area whenever I'm connecting to the US through YVR. I'll just start short-checking any luggage to YVR, collect it, then re-tag it and clear US customs as if I originated in YVR. There aren't even NEXUS kiosks after your luggage is finally photographed so I'm forced to chat with a US border guard. A really, really bad experience. Overall experience/any other comments Pretty frustrating experiencing a delay of over 9 hours. Agents handled it pretty well though. Was impressed hotel rooms were being offered for the day for all passengers. Opted for taxi vouchers to/from the CBD instead. |
