EDIT:

I didn't get flamed for asking for 13 segments, but I'm told it's over MPM somehow?

YYZ-CGK MPM over the Pacific is 11799 according to EF, so MPM5 should be 12389.

YYZ-ORD-NRT-ICN-KIX-BKK-SIN-CGK is 12035, so under MPM5.

Looks like a scenario where HUACA is called for.
I would try that. when I called to nail down the final flights for my RTW I spoke to an agent that had an attitude from the start of the call and without even trying he told me my request was not doable and avoided questions.

It was suggested here that I HUACA and i spoke with a woman who was concerned at first that it wouldn't be valid but told me she'd do here best. She was really helpful and of course my itin was valid because I'd done my homework

I've found that the first line call agents don't always know why the ITIN doesn't validate. I've had success getting it escalated to a supervisor when I've known that the routing that I'm attempting to book is clearly OK.

You may not want to do this if you are doing something clearly wrong, err, maximizing the system.

Has anyone had any luck with

HNL - AKL in July or Aug?

or even HNL-NRT-AKL?

I have been using flisea.com like crazy and looking into segment by segment (which is a great tool) but the HNL-NRT segment seems to take forever to load up.

I have heard that looking up segment by segment is better, right? Should I forget about the HNL-AKL and look to SYD or look through another city to connect through?

All inventory for HNL-AKL was pulled in September.

I wonder if sometimes agents mess up and don't use MPM5?

The agent was quite helpful and listened carefully as I fed her the segments, and in the end she said it definitely came back as over MPM and offered ICN-BKK direct instead of my zigzag back to KIX.

Unless GCMap is wrong (but it hasn't failed me when I've been literally a few miles under MPM5.)

Golden rule for these complex Mini RTWs:

If you don't like what you hear from the agent and are pretty sure it's right, hang up and call again.

After waiting 30 mins on hold, I asked the agent if my zigzag routing of YYZ-ORD-NRT-ICN-KIX-BKK-SIN-CGK was valid, and was told no problem and to feed her my segments.

Waiting for it to ticket, but should be okay. The taste of Dom on the TG A380 from KIX-BKK will be sweet!

Yul-pvg-hkg-syx-yul

I am planning the following in December this year, would redeem J award

YUL-PVG STOP Flexible, Dec 1st to 3rd leaving YUL
PVG-HKG STOP
HKG-SYX STOP Dec 25th or 27th
SYX-YUL Dec 29th to 30th

I have a few questions
-Am I allow to have STOP in both PVG and SYX?
-HKG-SYX has no valid flight, can I do a Open Jaw?
-SYX-YUL, Aeroplan suggesting SYX-PEK-YYZ-YUL or SYX-PEK-LAX-YUL as routing. Any other suggestion? I assume my only way out is from SYX to PEK?
-I tried the asiana quadra smartium seat is ORD-ICN on those seats?

Thanks.

Just found AC and NZ J class

YYZ-NRT-AKL for Jul 14/15

is there a way to have a night in NRT without extra fees/penalty?

less than 24 hrs overnight works, or are you asking for a free hotel room?

I suspect that this is indeed the case - that on times it is not validated to the actual number of their regulations.

I've had non legal bookings ticketed, then when I request to have them changed, I'm told that the sequence is illegal and that it has to be flown as is.

If you get away with it, buyer beware that you may be stuck with no changes.

To answer your questions in order:
- Yes
- Yes
- Yes, CA is your only choice for this one.
- No, OZ does not have the QS seat on ORD-ICN. They operate the QS seat out of LAX and JFK for certain (not sure about SFO after the accident.)

If you can get the 773 on CA from PEK-LAX it's going to be a decent seat, lie-flat and no scamcharges.

I'd recommend the following itinerary for you (should be minimal scamcharges)

Dec 2: AC429 YUL-YYZ
Dec 3: BR35 YYZ-TPE (2.5 hr layover)
Dec 4: BR712 TPE-PVG (4 hr layover)

?: PVG-CTU (CA)
?: CTU-HKG (CA)

Dec 29: CA1354 SYX-PEK (5 hr layover)
Dec 29: CA983 PEK-LAX (6 hr layover)
Dec 29: AC771 LAX-YUL

(Unfortunately, Dec 1-3 I couldn't find YUL-ZRH-PVG on LX, nor could I find PEK-ZRH-YUL on the 29/30)

I too am looking to get to AKL next year in J which is getting really tough with NZ pulling out so much J availability and everything via HNL it seems. On top of that I'd like to stop in BKK.

On the Errorplan site I can book a R/T via the Pacific both ways for AKL
eg. YYZ-NRT-AKL
AKL-SIN-TPE-YYZ

I would think that's way over MPM (whatever it is for AKL) but the real problem is adding a stop in BKK. Suddenly it's invalid (online anyways).

Does anyone know if something like the following would be valid or have any other route suggestions. Obviously trying not to fly YQ airlines.

YYZ-NRT-AKL (stop or OJ)
AKL (or CHC)-SIN-BKK (stop)
BKK-TPE-YYZ

or

YYZ-ORD-NRT-AKL (to avoid AC)
AKL (or CHC)-SIN-BKK (stop)
BKK-TPE-YYZ

or
YYZ-NRT-AKL
AKL (or CHC)-SIN-BKK (stop)
BKK-IST-YYZ (or any route going via Atlantic)

Thanks for your help!

they're both valid due to published routes but I've never been able to stop in the middle because the stopover in the middle is not part of a published routing, and would need to fall under mpm
