Wöhrdersee Hotel Mercure Nürnberg City

- Name of the hotel:
Wöhrdersee Hotel Mercure Nürnberg City,

- What is your Le Club status?
Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Privilege Room with king-size bed, No upgrade as highest room level expect for the 1 suite the hotel offers.

- How are the rooms?
Clean and comfortable
Kingsize bed
Showers only
Mini Bar with free drinks, which consisted of 1 of each of the following beer, apple juice, water and coke.
Tassimo coffee machine
Newspaper
Premium Wifi
Ipod docking station

- What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Friendly staff
Good location to the main sights and good park next door.
Reasonably priced
Good transport connections with tram stop just outside.

Filled out the satisfaction survey and the first time ever got a reply with in a day with apologises about parts of my stay that did not meet my expectations.

Bad: Status was not recognized at arrival, room dressed for one person, small and thin duvets. Shower is of an interesting design and wouldn't recommend it unless your with your partner, as its a see through design. Corridors feel unfinished. WiFi intermittent

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?

No lounge
- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?

Welcome drink voucher for two after asking.

[B]- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return
Probably, as it's the only real 4 star Accor property in the centre of the city.

Just to add I received a postcard from the hotel thanking me for staying with them and hope to see me again soon.

- Name of the hotel:
Grand Sukhumvit Bangkok

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Standard, upgraded to suite (living room + bedroom + bahtroom)

- How are the rooms?
Rather old hotel, downgraded from Sofitel, but OK

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: I booked a late check-out rate and arrived before 11am, my room was ready, besides 4pm check out I asked for a 5pm check-out, granted
I know as platinum I can ask for late check out 4 pm, I new I would arive early, did not want to take any risks.
Hotel is 250m from fast transport system and 200m from lively soi 8 (access via a small alley) with many restaurants and even cafes. The infamous Nana Plaza is 500m walk.

Bad:
nothing really, just oldisch type of property.
Arrived on Sunday, went for lunch buffet, price was a whopping 1300THB, expensive Sunday brunch I guess, passed. Next day lunch was 300THB.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
No have (Thai expression)

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
Did not get any, did not ask neither.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Decent value, would I return? for the location maybe, dont expect a 5 property though.

- Name of the hotel:
Novotel Brussels Midi Station

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not really

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Standard but smoking room was requested no upgrade possible

- How are the rooms?
Very small

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Pre-arrival communication was prompt and courteous

Bad:
Service was a mess. The first words uttered at 9am arrival was "Check in is at 12". How very kind. When presented with the Le Club card check in was possible. No room service info in room and even reception could not find a menu. Was told "Lasagne, pizza, salmon" Not very informative.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?

No lounge

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?

Drinks voucher issued at check in, stated beer, wine, softdrink. When I ordered a G&T I was told that counts as 2 beverages. Eventually bar man relented.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Good value if you ignore the service issues.

Wow. (Requesting ice and lemon would probably have got you marched out of the hotel.)

- Name of the hotel: Mercure Manchester Piccadilly

- What is your Le Club status? Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked 2x Standard Room via Happy Mondays, both were upgraded to suites.

- How are the rooms? Good. Nothing extrodinary, but tidy and well equipped. Obviously quite spacious given the additional living area.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
> We were given 2 free drink vouchers per room without prompting.
> Staff were very friendly throughout the stay.
> The restaurant/bar is really nice.
> Hotel parking for £15 per night of stay is very reasonable for the location.

Bad:
> One of the TVs in one of the rooms had a dodgy picture.
> One of the rooms didn't have pods for the coffee maker, but they quickly provided an ungodly amount when we told reception.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? Doesn't have a lounge.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? Got the upgrade and free drinks, weren't able to early check in, didn't ask for late check out.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Excellent. £40 for a suite in the centre of Manchester with a couple of free drinks thrown in; what's not to like!

Park Lane Hong Kong a Pullman Hotel

- Name of the hotel:
Park Lane Hong Kong a Pullman Hotel
- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum
- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very impressed - one of my best stays in an Accor hotel (interesting since this hotel hasn't really converted to a Pullman yet).

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Classic Room upgraded to Premium Deluxe with park and harbour view.

- How are the rooms?

Still haven't been renovated - apparently this will be done floor by floor. To update Stimpy's earlier review, the renovation of the suites have been completed. The rooms, as they are still in the old Park Lane style, are more classical, showing slight wear-and-tear but still clean. The odd thing is the rounded glass panel (with a curtain) separating the bathroom from the bedroom.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Executive lounge - one of the best I've experienced.
Staff - efficient, friendly
The food - in Cafe One the good is reasonably priced and of high quality.

Bad:
The top floor deck - this is not open to hotel guests any more and can only be booked for private functions. Such a shame.
No swimming pool - a pool on the top floor would have been the icing on the cake. There are no plans for one it seems.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
Yes - when checked in downstairs at Accor priority desk, was given print out with list of benefits. Breakfast limited in the lounge with usual hot options and cold cuts / bread etc. Breakfast can be taken downstairs - recommended. They have juice, tea, coffee, soft drinks until 11pm with cocktail hour from 6 - 8 with great selection of hot snacks (dim sum, hot sausage rolls) as well as cold cuts, mini canapes etc. There's sparkling wine, spirits etc but no cocktail menu as far as I'm aware. They also had some scones with cream and jam as well as cake for afternoon tea time.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?

2 welcome drinks given upon check in (for beer, wine, tea, coffee, soft drinks, orange or mango juice). Big plate of fruit (7 types) delivered to room a few hours after check in.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Used Accor Advantage Plus free night and spent a considerable amount on food to take advantage of x4 points promo. I also got 50% off buffet / a la carte in Cafe One (for 2 persons dining). This dining benefit is not available to outside guests yet but will be reviewed after June. It's 20% discount for the On the Desk restaurant upstairs. I would definitely return.

- Name of the hotel:
Novotel Nathan Road (Kowloon)
- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum
- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a suite (highest category)
- How are the rooms?
More modern than the rooms at Novotel Wan Chai. Has a separate guest toilet and plenty of space in the living room for visitors (seats for up to 7 people).
- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Spacious rooms (for Hong Kong)
Reasonable breakfast selection on 1st floor
Good location only 2 mins to MTR and in between Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui which is perfect for shoppers.

Bad:
No swimming pool (there is one at the Wan Chai Novotel)

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
Yes, as I booked a suite. Good selection of snacks in afternoon and for the evening cocktail hour. Only tea and coffee meant to be served before 2:30pm but they gave soft drinks when asked. Evening drinks included 2 or 3 types of beer, red and white wine, a good selection of spirits and instructions on how to make your own cocktail! Snacks included mini hamburgers, deep fried tofu and Shanghai dumplings as well as some cold snacks.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
Yes - I received 2 drink coupons upon check in.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Booked the suite for 796hkd all in (I'm sure this was a mistake rate on their website as it is usually 2000hkd+). Anyway, they honoured the rate so it was great value. My only purpose of staying there was to complete the 3 stays promotion. 4000 points AND x4 points were posted the next day even though I'd registered for the x4 points the day after the 3 Stays promotion ended.

Excellent. Thank you. I'm very much looking forward to stay there next summer. I hope the stay will be better than the booking experience which has been pretty poor.
