When did these changes go fully live?

Absolutely kicking myself I didn't book my hotels earlier. Hilton have basically put the nail in the coffin of what was a flagging reward programme.

Anyone got a recommendation for another chain?

Every big chain has had similar "enhancements".

Looking at Labor Day awards. Was Hampton Bar Harbor in Acadia National Park a Cat 9 before the devaluation?

Showing as max 80,000 which I think was C9.

The site with the maximums is still live for to check any property.

Well, if you liked the breadth of HH, your first stop is probably Marriott.

Hilton's not dead to me: just frustrating that the big devaluations followed by big promos make me keep re-doing the math. Now my baseline is earning 50-60 points per dollar...the whole thing is beginning to feel a bit IHG-ish to me.

Marriott and Starwood keep the level of their "currency" a bit more stable, but that alone doesn't make them a better or worse program. Kind of depends on what you're after... If you earn HH now, be prepared to spend it now.

Looked at that property early this year and I think it was 60k at that time.

Found a link (not sure if I can post it here) saying that the property was moved from Cat 7 to Cat 9 in January.

Guess "points cap" is still being honored (for now).

Several months back but not sure of exact date. I pretty much just use my HH points at some of there lower level properties when I am on the road. Forget the higher end stuff, way too many points to get very little. I was recently in downtown Boston and burned some but it was crazy high. However when I stayed at the HGI in Devon MA I felt like I was at least getting a bit of a "deal".

Happened within past week or so. Standard Reward doubled at a hotel I stayed and was planning to book again. I guess Hilton doesn`t think it has to announce any devaluation since there is no more categories? Not cool.

No more 5K points hotels, all starts with 10K now.

You may be right about this - even Hampton Minsk is showing 10K.

When announcing how great the program will be in 2018, they didn`t say a word about removing 5K hotels and doubling some 10K and 20K ones.
It will soon be like Zimbabwe currency.

This is why there is no incentive whatsoever to save up points and why I redeem on a regular basis

On a different note, its been years since I have seen a 5K here in the US or eve 10K, now 20K is the lowest I see

From HH Rep on FT: "But you can rest assured about the value of your Points." Not true at all.
