Gov. Walker indicated that he would likely support it, so let's hope he signs it soon so Uber and Lyft can get to work getting service ready here!

Alaskans (or tourists), feel free to email your support for the Governor to sign the bill ASAP at http://aws.state.ak.us/CrmForms/Home/Feedback.
Whereas the state government has no budget and will shut down the 1st of July. Glad to see where they have their priorities.

Whereas the Republican party would like to see government so small that they can strangle it (Yes, that is a quote from one of their critters) we do have a group coming to Alaska in a couple of weeks that do not need to be subjected to our taxi system. Uber and Lyft would be a very large upgrade from what we offer now.

They are not. Critters are critters wherever they be and we are still not allowed to shoot them

That would be the one. I used Melanie's Taxi Service last night. Only problem with that was there was a three year old in the back seat that needed a hug from Papa!!

I am very happy to report that Uber and Lyft are up and running as of today. Not sure how well, but they have been recruiting drivers for some time now, and most likely Uber has drivers available from their earlier attempt to drive around Anchorage.

Rumors abound about introductory fares, but unfounded at this point. Perhaps someone else can confirm.

Yes. And many people have already posted about it on the Insight Community Thread, even though it was a general survey not specifically targeted at the Insight Community cohort.
