and the ANC AL/BR is back to their old ways. FAKE Noise (FOX) blaring away on the main screen and Newmax (FAKENOISE LITE) speechifying on the small screen. Sure glad I am on a pass and did not/will not be joining again.

Weren't you flying in A class (First class award)? That grants one BR access without using a pass.

Nothing like flying another airline to appreciate AS. My personal ratings for the pointy end:

Food
AA
AS
DL
UA

Service
DL
AS
AA
UA

Please please AS, start pricing more EUG flights competitively again! The numbers seem to align with my thinking. Six straight months of declining Year over Year numbers and one daily PDX cut while the others have increased capacity, frequency or both and overall volumes continue to grow.

Not everyone lives in a home with a view, a personal chef to serve the Chinook with the sauce du jour, and an in-house sommelier to pick out the daily Bourgogne Blanc. Some eat Fries with Eyes and something carbonated from a can.

^Thank you SFO construction!^

I know it's been causing a lot of grief but it got me rebooked from UA to AS. UA was going misconnect and leave me in SFO overnight but agent was able to move me over (to U of all things since Y was zeroed out; wonder if I'll get anything for this). Didn't even have to ask for it!

AS unrefurbed F > UA A320 F and I was probably going to die at #1 anyways. Do think the IFE selection is better on UA (and DL Studio is even better). Small price to pay.

Those are hooligan, AKA "candlefish."

Here's a Wikipedia information link.

In part:
Indigenous communities of the Pacific Coast from California to Alaska made eulachon an important part of their diet, as well as a valuable trade item with peoples whose territories did not include spawning rivers. The species was caught using traps, rakes, and nets. The harvest continues today, with other residents taking part in the exploitation of the large runs.
