Oh noes! No more pillows in f?

I was on a transcon to SFO in F on Friday. There was a fuss and a delay after boarding due to an aircraft swap. Catering was late, as were other supplies. After a delay pillows showed up and the purser handed them out in F. He said "take them home because there was not going to be any more pillows in First after today". Oh noes! Can it be true?

CO still has pillows (TMK), so I doubt it.

ETA: CO did have pillows on my last redeye flight with them (LAX-CLE)--that's the only time I use pillows. They were white.

really? wow. i just don't understand why you wouldn't keep something so cheap around in support of an already poorly differentiated product.

while i'm on the topic, the CO blankets are pathetic and serve as a reminder of how poor airline service is. great change...

I rarely use the pillows so this would be a nothing to me. YMMV.

Negative. CO is the only carrier who does not provide pillows in F on domestic flights. They may have some transcons as an exception, but in general, CO does not have pillows and hasn't had them for a couple years now.

Unfortunately, this is yet another CO negative that is coming over to the "world's leading airline."

If you want pillows, they're available on AA, US, DL, and up until yesterday, UA.

Oh noooooooo!

I love having a pillow, particularly on the HNL>ORD red eye. I can actually sleep on a plane but not without a pillow of some sort and it is such a nuisance to lug those horseshoe thingys all over. If the FA's want peace and quiet from the pax, just give them a pillow and blanket and set the scene for sleep....

A change I DON'T LIKE

I use them for lumbar support. So I'll now have to take along my own little travel pillow--something else to worry about.

CO hasn't had pillows on (non-HNL) domestic F on any of my flights in the past two weeks. They do have a reasonably substantial blanket (better than the UA gauze blanker), available on request, or usually in the bin above seat 1E, which can be rolled up to provide lumbar support.

I hope they adopt UA's pillow and CO's blanket.

At the very least pillows were great for lumbar support when you sat in a well-worn F seat (especially the RJs). What's next to go, the table cloth and napkin linen?

I agree w/ the others re: the pillows for lumbar support. I could perhaps understand taking them out of Y, but F? Makes no sense to me.

Cheers.

This just in from Apologist COmmand - I never used the table cloth anyway.
I'll never miss it.

I'd rather have the pillow and give up the table cloth, especially if the meal is served on a tray.

CO's seats also seem to have less lumbar support than UA ones.
