Yep....Bed Bath and Beyond and Avery Iron On Transfer Paper. Actual size is close to the original UA pillow. Total cost $8......value priceless.

Again, this is not a United Express issue. At least some of the UX carriers continue to provide pillows. The issue here is with mainline UA.

So any comments from your seatmate(s) and/or f/a's?

I like this snazzy plush pillow. Although it looks like its easy to inflate, it may still be a pain in the neck.

still no pillows

UA 925, IAD-LAX, 5/8 and UA 710 LAX-BOS 9/8 (red-eye). Still no pillows in F and the disgraceful gauze shawl instead of a blanket. Flight attendant said that as far as she knows, there are no plans to bring pillows back (FWIW)

Seems that UA is bent on reaching the bottom of the rankings for both hard and soft product. Oh well, if you can't reach the top, at least you can make yourself notorious by reaching the other extreme..

Slightly off-topic. CO 1686 SNA-EWR, F cabin, no pillows or blankets. I found the CO F seats quite a bit less comfortable than UA ones.

Cheers

backtracking on pillows?

I had an unpleasant exchange with a GA in DEN last Friday--she was monitoring carryons and said my blue bag with a pillow exceeded the allowance. I pointed out it UA had no pillows and my back needed one. She then looked down and noted I had something else in the bag (a board upon which I sit). I used to get by with two UA pillows. She insisted that UA 'does have pillows.' "No they don't," I replied, and I proceeded down the jetway--thankfully avoiding being expelled for disorderly conduct!

I had written a complaint on this issue and the coffee issue over two weeks earlier--acknowledged, but with no response. Now I was told by "customer solutions" that my earlier letter could not be located Anyhow, unlike
an earlier response, the pillow matter was covered only as follows:

"We are receiving much feedback from our Elites regarding pillows and
coffee, and your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate group."

Blah, Blah, Blah

Flyer 420
in Seattle

ps maybe we will find that the new name for the "coffee" will simply be
CS (for customer solution!)

No pillows on any of my flights this month. Including a redeye from West Coast to ORD.
Until I see an OFFICIAL word of this supposed restocking of pillows in domestic F, I am a non-believer.

I'd be willing to bet they're gone for good. And if the rumors of the new MP program are true, so am I.

Pillow Talk

UA Insider:

As far back as late June, UA customer relations responded to multiple inquiries about the elimination of pillows with this verbiage:

United recently changed procedures for provisioning pillows and blankets on board our aircraft. After several weeks of study and evaluation of employee and customer feedback, a new provisioning procedure has been developed that place clean and wrapped blankets re-cased pillows on our aircraft.
Two months have elapsed since UA indicated that they are working on a new "provisioning procedure" for restoring pillows to the F cabins of domestic, two class planes. Would you please tell us where we stand with respect to the restoration of pillows?

Thanks!
