My parents just called me...
They're a row in front of Orenthal J Simpson on Ted from LAS-DEN and the door is about to close.
If anyone wants to heckle the (alleged ) Murderin' Juiceman, he'll be arriving DEN in a few hours on 1462!
(Apparently he had just pled 'Not Guilty' in Vegas to his (alleged ) rampage in Vegas, and was escorted to the plane by 4 deputies).

I just saw Matthew McConeghy (OK I Know I can't spell) and his girlfriend, and Chris Rock on UA32 last night (30 Nov) - the redeye from LAX - JFK
I was back in Y (ugh) and the silly girl across the aisle from me wanted to talk about them. I just put in my earplugs and pulled down my eyeshade to sleep

I know this is a long thread, but have seen a few over the years:
It's been interesting. Most people stay calm and leave the celebs alone. A couple folks wanted Chuck Yeager's autograph and he's wasn't very happy about that. Was sitting next to me grumbling about it, but otherwise not much excitement.
- Danny Glover checking in in front of me at SFO
- Sean Penn & wife & 2 kids SFO-Honolulu last year
- Sat next to Crispin Glover (George McFly in Back to the Future) IAD-Brussels last year and had a nice chat
- Chuck Yeager several times out of Sacramento (he lives nearby)
- Jane Seymour LHR-LAX in March of this year
- Tony Robbins a couple years ago Honolulu-SFO
- Lee Trevino (golfer) ORD-Grand Rapids MI
- Shaq checking in in front of me at LAX a few years ago
- Various Congressional members flying in/out of IAD
- Andy Williams at the bar in RCC in Denver a couples years ago
- Michael Boatman (Carter on Spin City) New York-SFO
- Various actors and crew of LOST on flights LAX-Honolulu over the past two years
- Sheriff John Burnell (from early COPS and various car chase shows) flying into DC
- Pierce Brosnan in RCC in LAX a year ago

I don't have any luck on UAL... much better luck at Hyatt/Fairmont with sport stars. Maybe I'm just not good at noticing.
PS, I was waiting to board a Lufthansa flight and in the boarding area was the #1 guy in the world in Guitar Hero for some competition in Sweden... didn't realize there was such a thing as professional gamer and you make your living off games. Does that count as a celeb? ;-)

TdF Bike Racer
I took my son to France this past July to watch the Tour de France and ride a couple of the passes (Port du Bales and Col d'Aubisque). We managed to snag a "Village" pass (the "Village" is where the media & riders & famous people hang out prior to the start of each day's race), where we met Chris Horner, an American who rides for the Lotto team, in support of eventual 2nd-place Cadel Evans. OK, that's not FT material.
But this is. On our flight back to the US (CDG-ORD), Chris Horner was sitting directly in front of us (in E+; fortunately, he's a pretty humble guy and didn't seem to mind at all). Got his picture taken with my son in Chicago, as seen here.
For me, that was way-cooler than sitting next to Tiger Woods' golf caddy last year in C (LHR-SFO).

Dignitaries' Secret Service Treatment
Hi,
I'm a long time lurker, first time poster...
Yesterday, I was on UA 720 - a 767 - from SFO to DEN.
I knew there was something interesting happening when we were all gathered at gate 82 to board, when 2 air marshals (or other similar government employees) came off the plane and marched somewhere quickly.
As we were allowed to board, more suits with coiled radio earbuds were posted about the front of the plane. I took my seat in the first row and heard one of them mention that Jimmy Carter was to be on board.
After all passengers were seated, the former President came on board and immediately proceeded to go down the aisles to shake the hand of everyone.
When he was done, he posed in the galley with the flight attendants for a picture. I had my iPhone and captured this picture - sorry for the quality,
but I didn't have the best vantage point.

Then, he sat in seat 3J:

I didn't notice her board, but later I saw Mrs. Carter sitting in 3H:

I really didn't want to obnoxiously invade their space or snap a bunch of pictures, but took a few discreet photos.
The flight was pretty normal, but near the end of the in-flight entertainment, we saw a preview of 'National Treasure: Book of Secrets', and I could swear I heard the former President say "I'd like to see that!"
As the plane landed, I kind of expected someone to announce that everyone should stay seated until President Carter's entourage had left the plane, but they just gave the normal instructions. The secret service agents were standing, retrieving overhead luggage, and stationed at the galley during taxi, but the Carters stayed in their seats until the seatbelt sign went off.
I was going to stay put in the first row, but the other passengers in F popped up and started to get their things out of the overhead. So, I did the same and tried to get out of the way as soon as possible to allow the flow to move quickly.
We entered the terminal at Gate 32, and it was a no-brainer to get on the moving walkway. I could hear President Carter chatting with a passenger behind me. She was commenting on how active he was and how much of an inspiration he still is today. I heard the secret service folks instruct the former President that he had 2 more moving walkways to traverse before they arrived at a police facility. I assume he was continuing on to a connecting flight somewhere in the Mountain time zone (otherwise he would have gone to ORD or some other route).
As I split off from the point of his entourage toward the trains to baggage claim, I glanced back and saw him - a white haired, casually dressed figure in a crowd of tall, dark suits. He was carrying two bags himself.
Overall, I was impressed by the dignity he showed and the 'everyman' way that he didn't demand extra special treatment in his seating, de-boarding, or transiting the terminal.
I remembered that my father said he had the same experience on DL in the 90s, where President Carter came on board with his wife, shook everyones' hands and they sat right next to him in F.
I know there are threads on Celebrity Sightings, but I was wondering if others have experienced dignitary sightings of any other ex-Presidents or family members? Do they have options of flying commercial vs. private vs. govt?
