Mystatus.united.com is down on Friday evening Jan 12th "It's not you, it's us." But I noticed today my digital card in the United App shows GS with Jan 2025 expiration. I did 46 PQF with 42,371 PQP in 2023 all on United Metal out of ORD. I'm a 1M miler (1.8M) and my wife (my 1M companion) noticed the upgrade on her account today as well.
I didn't expect to make it. I've been 1K since I last qualified for GS in 2018. A fun Suprise. |

Out of EWR and a 3MM. GS since Continental merger but last year had to do a challenge to become GS again because of 2022 PQP low at 37,228 (like many people my international travel was way decreased post-COVID). In 2023 PQP 76,770 with 63,466 PQP on United metal. 126 segments with 142,529 odometer air miles as I progress towards 4MM. Domestic travel is unfortunately always booked in coach with cheap tickets due to company policies. However overseas always is in Polaris.
Still no word for me about GS for 2024. |
Still waiting for a nomination but unlikely this year for the first time in a few years as I had to spread my spend across multiple carriers.
Does anyone know what a GS challenge couple potentially look like? |

Considering we've seen qualifications at $42K from hubs, I'd think that a $12K in 90 day challenge could be expected? I was honestly hoping they'd raise the bar in 2023 to higher than pre-Covid times but it doesn't look like it. Five GS MCI-DEN yesterday and at least fifteen 1K's.

For those of us who are dropping to 1K, we still will have GS status till 1/31, correct? Looking to use some of my PP for PN, I should still have access to PN till 1/31? Or can I only do PZ starting today?

The challenges used to allow you to specify the 90 day period.

Last year the challenges were $17K over 120 days, from what I remember seeing posted.

DEN based with only paid-first tickets. Often C and J fares. 33000 PQP for 2023 and ~15000 PQP in 2022. Shocked I got a challenge again. The my status page still shows "it's not you, it's us," but the MP agent assured me that I qualified and that spend starting today would qualify under the challenge. |
So, they told you that you didn't make GS this year?
