Are you on with a GS reservations rep or did they transfer you to the MP service center?

globetraveler Jan 12, 2024 1:14 pm

Just called MP service center, she said challenges or further evaluations could be requested later this month. No info but seems inconsistent with what others are getting?

I assume at this point it's done?

Is it really over - or did the my status website just come back online? The sheer amount of spend (if accurate) of posters that didn't make the cut seems out of line with the early re-qualifiers, who in many cases had much less overall spend if we believe the spreadsheet.

Didn’t make it either. 8 Year GS, 2.5 mm flyer 45k in premium spend last year based out of AUS so down a bit.

Yeah, I think there might be another round. There's no way people with 70K+ spend are out and people with low/sub 40K are in.

Edit: 90.5k UA metal

This is just shocking. Just got off phone with GS, lovely agent said they didn't know about challenges yet, but then called MPSC and their system is down to process the challenges but should be back up in 24h at which point requested challenges should appear automatically. 18000$ in 120 days was what I was told (1k higher than last year).

They are extraordinarily slammed on the phone with very angry people right now. Not surprised.

just called the GS line they didn't transfer me anywhere

My husband has similar numbers to yours (54 PQP, 60 PQF) and is also IAH based. Almost 100% paid business/first on UA metal. No GS for him. I knew he was probably on the cusp; however, seeing so many qualify with fewer PQPs here, and in other forums, I thought he had a decent shot.

Finally got supervisor in mileage plus group. It does appear decisions are done for 2024 and MyStatus site is accurate. Seems they are using some metrics different than those from the past, with some folks with far fewer PQP re-qualifying, and other with same home airport, more PQP, fewer segments, higher CPM not qualifying. Any idea what the new metric might be?
They have pre-registered many of us for a challenge. This year's challenge is $18,000 PQP in any 120-day period between Jan 1 and June 30. But status will reduce on Jan 31 until challenge is met.
Extremely frustrating.. And what is the benefit of all of this secrecy surrounding the metrics (just as they don't publish the GS exception benefits)...?

This is similiar to the message I was being told but they said the flights had to be purchased and flown in a 120 day period which makes no sense. I am still on hold waiting for her to provide the final details.

134,000PQP (1500 on non-UAL metal)
182,000 BIS on United in 2023
GS since 2019 with lowest spend in that time of $70,000
CPM of 73

Welcome to 1K
It’s possible I just flew my last flight on United today.

Global Services Challenge

Could someone tell me the best way to initiate a Global Services challenge? Any tips or advice is welcome.
Thank you,

Final details should post to the my status page in a few days. I called reservations back after speaking with MP this morning, and they confirmed that the challenge was active and is actually $18K in 120 days. Shocked I qualified for the challenge with only 33,000 PQP last year and half that in 2022.
