182,000 BIS on United in 2023 GS since 2019 with lowest spend in that time of $70,000 CPM of 73 Welcome to 1K It’s possible I just flew my last flight on United today. |
GS 2023 did not get invited back for 2024. 1k message received on status.
2023 PQP: 65K PQF: 59 Called MP and was told "marketing" will review the account and you will hear something in 72 hours. Disappointed with United. |
I’m not requesting a challenge, I’m gonna write them
with the facts and if they don’t reconsider I’m done with UA for 90% of my flying and 90% of my team’s flying which I control (4 1Ks). |

Finally got supervisor in mileage plus group. It does appear decisions are done for 2024 and MyStatus site is accurate. Seems they are using some metrics different than those from the past, with some folks with far fewer PQP re-qualifying, and other with same home airport, more PQP, fewer segments, higher CPM not qualifying. Any idea what the new metric might be?
They have pre-registered many of us for a challenge. This year's challenge is $18,000 PQP in any 120-day period between Jan 1 and June 30. But status will reduce on Jan 31 until challenge is met. Extremely frustrating.. And what is the benefit of all of this secrecy surrounding the metrics (just as they don't publish the GS exception benefits)...? So let’s say we do a 120 day challenge from Feb - June, does that mean we’d only get GS from June ‘24 to Jan ‘25? If that’s the case, I don’t think it’s worth it going through all the motions to have status for 8 months. If the new normal for GS qualification is north of $60-70K, as an LAX flyer this just isn’t worth it. LAX is a hub-lite- and I can’t justify connecting to half my destinations for the “off chance” I MIGHT qualify for GS with that kind of spend. I’d rather split my spend with AA or DL and take non-stops on destinations like CDG, MIA, CLT, RDU etc. |

Did not get GS for 2024. Based in SFO, GS last year with 57,355 PQP and 55 segments all on UA metal; In 2023, PQP 56,179, 85 segments. 2.3 million miler
They seemed to have become super stingy and raised the threshold exceptionally high for GS this year. |

This seems like a strong indication of profitability yield per customer as a bigger consideration factor this year looking at these posts. Roughly, those >$50k with CPM >.60 and low segments were seen as clear cases and renewed in December. January 3rd had renewals and first time notifications of $45k+ but again CPM over .45 and low number of segments. I was told several years ago that cost-to-serve analysis plays into this - CPM and number of segments bring proxies for those.

While we can’t tell for sure, it would appear based on other posts that there is some sort of international travel - percentage, minimum segments or something along those lines at play here, compared to spend based on pqp and or cpm metrics. for those who met the proverbial 50k+ spend, which used to be the bar, but didn’t make the cut this year, would you share what percentage of your spend was domestic vs intl? |
Did not requalify for 2024 - very disappointed
GS for the last 13 years 2 million miler SFO based Mostly domestic FC 45.3k PQM and 38 PQF in 2023 29.1k PQM and 33 PQF in 2022 / avg annual spend on United metal prior to 2020 was $55k (ranged from $40k to $70k per year) |

37,775 PQP and 21 PQF out of EWR in 2023, all on United metal except ~1,000 PQP. No re-qualification yet. Been GS since 2019.
Currently have ~19K PQP across 8 PQF booked for just January 2024. I'm hoping that helps my case. Spoke with GS desk and they were able to talk to MPSC and get me set up with a GS challenge. The GS agent didn’t have the details of the challenge, but said I’d receive an email in a few hours with the details. Other folks in this thread have been told 18,000 PQP within 120 days between Jan 1 and Jun 30, with GS dropping off until the challenge is met. If that’s the case I should just squeak by to maintain GS with my 19K of booked UA metal travel in January. Here’s hoping.:tu: |

When you say "didn't re-qualify", do you mean you have a notification on the states page that states you will be 1K for 2024?

Still baffled for not re-qualifying. 2023 stats 85,000 PQP 113 PQF.

almost the exact same profile, still showing 1K — BOS based, 56k PQP on 60 segments, and an additional $3k was lost due to a mechanical that resulted in a refunded trip in vain, which obviously doesn’t count but will kill me if that ends up being the difference, especially since we sat on that broken 752 for six hours before departing and then returning to the gate. Sigh.
