So, that would be number 5 of the sUA 763 3-class to 2 class Polaris conversion?

That would be the 7th 3-class 763 undergoing Polaris conversion, as there are 2 already at HKG since Dec 2017.

Fleet plan shows fleet additions include
8 77W,
7 789/7810 - 5 more to come - I'm not sure if that is 3 7810s + 2 789s or 2 7810s + 3 789s
10 739MAX
3 763ER - said agreement reached and should enter fleet in 2nd Half of 2018, Most likely HA 2002/2003 leased birds.
Fleet update shows no 319/320s in 2018.

I'm wondering if that means the lavs are really narrow since I believe the available space is the same. . There was a story on the internet saying the AA 738MAX lavs are really narrow at 24 inches. The story said two people got stuck in the lav on the flight they were writing about.

8 more 77W? I thought there were only 4 more to go at this point.

As for the 763ER, will they got Polaris retrofits? Seems like it would make the most sense. Wonder if they'll bother sticking PE on those birds or not...

Four new 77Ws was my understanding too. At the Q2-17 earnings call they indicated they'd be taking 8 78Js in 2018, up from 4. So if that's changed to 7 779/J does that indicate another order conversion from 789/J to 77W?

I can't see United adding P+ to just three 763s. That doesn't make sense. Polaris yes, P+ no. If they're going to expand P+ once the 78J is bedded in it would make sense to add it to the ongoing 772 retrofits from 2019 onwards.

It is indeed only 4 77Ws being inducted to the fleet this year. As for the 787s, 2 789s have already been delivered. 2 more schedule to enter service in February, and that competes UA’s 789 orders. There are at least 2 78Js being delivered towards the end of this year, likely 3, and possibly even 4 depending on Boeing’s production.

As for the UAX side of things, the 50-seater fleet will again increase this year. The 37-seater fleet will be completely withdrawn. And the large-RJ fleet (70+ seats) is now maxed out due to scope so that will be unchanged for the foreseeable future. [scope max is 255 70+ seaters of which 153 can be 76+ seats]

Incorrect. UA will take 7 total 787s is 2018, 4 of which are -10s and 3 are -9s.

Note, there were only 33 787 by the end of YE 2017, which include:
787-8 *13 3901-3913
787-9 *20 3950-3969
so the 3970 considered as 2018 delivery, which should be included in that "7 new 787".

Thus, 7 new 787 in 2018: 787-9 *5 (3970,3971,3972,3973,3974) + 787-10 *2

Does this mean the additional 319 lined up from China Southern are cancelled?

jackexu:
There are only 12 788s, 3911 is skipped as a ship number.
So, 3970 was taken in 2017, meaning it will be a total or 4 789s and 3 7810s in 2018.

On another thread a trusted poster shows the end of 2018 with the below (I inserted additions/mod info):
WiFi upgrades on some fleets underway, to commence or to complete:
18 777-300ER (+4 in 2018) - (I'm very sorry about my typo post showing 8 - maybe wishful thinking)
55 777-200ER (Polaris reconfigurations to commence, possibly just on sUA fleet of 33 three class units in 2018)
19 777-200 (Domestic)
3 787-10 (3 new in 2018)
25 787-9 (4 new in 2018 - 2 already delivered, other 2 will be delivered very soon)
12 787-8
16 767-400ER (Y crew mod underway)
38 767-300ER (3 used HA units expected to deliver in 2nd half 2018) (Polaris reconfigurations on 3 class units: 4 complete, 3 in mod, 7 others to get mod)
21 757-300 (slimline reconfiguration underway)
56 757-200
10 737MAX-9 (+10 in 2018)
136 737-900ER
12 737-900 (show one unit still needs split scimitar winglets)
141 737-800 (6 remaining slimlines to complete, 2 in mod now)
40 737-700 (10 remaining slimlines to complete, 1 in mod now)
99 320-200 (all delivered, 2 in LCQ Induction) - (Show no additional deliveries in 2018)
67 319-100 (all delivered, 4 in LCQ Induction) - (Show no additional deliveries in 2018)
