N656UA entered HKG on November 15, so this would be close to a 9-week stay (versus ~12 for the prior frames). Either N656UA did not need as much work done, or the pace is increasing. Either way, good to see another 763ER reentering the active fleet with the new seats.

That’s the plan.

If a new 789 is on its way, does that mean the new ex-LAX route will be announced soon?!

UA has updated the seat map for the 753 slimline on the website (https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...0/default.aspx). However, in the process they removed the seatmap for the non-slimline 753.

They call the 24F cabin 'BusinessFirst' in that seatmap

Yeah...the 763 retrofit was taking a long time just to do the Diamond seats back in 2016, too. Those planes are getting so much more work done than just the new interiors that it might not be fair to project 772 timings from them.

I am curious as to who pays for the transfer work. The operating carrier or UA?

speaking of paint, i’m once again surprised/disappointed that UA didn’t bother to paint an aircraft or two in an olympic livery. they must spend a fortune to be the official airline of team usa, and otherwise market the heck out of the relationship.

The 772 HD configs were roughly ~60 days once the line was towards the end and they had the kinks worked out. However, none of the HD configs had AVOD to install in economy so they are less work to complete. It's unknown how much incremental work AVOD is to wire beyond ISP. The 763 line is currently running at about 90 days per mod. I would imagine that the first 772 to get Polaris will be ~90 days due to it being the first one and the STC but after that drop to ~75 days.
