There are only 14 787-10s on order. I suspect once UA has gotten enough information on how they perform and where they fit in the system, we will see a top-up order of 78Js as well as 789s.

Really? My main thought is trying to figure out where UA is going to add all these new planes to, unless they are going to start doing many Polaris retrofits on 772s...I don’t see UA adding a whole bunch of new long/thin routes.

Bunky Jan 3, 2018 11:15 am

752 scimitars:
N19130 - photos confirm scimitar winglets installed
N19141 - cannot confirm last remaining unit w/o - last photo on internet looks like pre-Summer 2017.

787-10 is almost a 1:1 772 ER replacement when talking about capacity, range is a little less but well within what most 772 ERs are flying.

I'm going to be bold in stating that between the 787-10 and the 777-300ER we won't see an A350 in UA colours.

It will be interesting. My guess is IAD becomes an all-787 longhaul operation and a 787 domicile is introduced at ORD or EWR. The 787-10 isn't really ideal for longhaul TPAC but from LAX/SFO, it should be well-suited for Japan and Korea.

Oh, how I wish the CRJ-200s would go away instead of becoming more and more common while ERJ-145s start to decline. The 200 earns every bit of the Devil's Chariot name. The 145 at least has some redeeming features (the A seats) and a few seats that are actually OK. (Connecting from F in a 757-300 to 18A on an ERJ-145 last week, I didn't really feel that terrible in the exit single seat on the 145 even after a ride in First in the 757. The CRJ-200 has no redeeming features or good seats whatsoever.

N515CR Jan 3, 2018 5:33 pm

Surprised to see E145's coming back. Did UA hit the reduction number from the Fall Investor Report?
