After 10 days I finally received this very unsatisfactory answer. Basically no target date. 15,000 miles for over 20 miscatered flights isn’t great either;
I sincerely apologize to you for the food services in and out of Denver. I am not sure that you are aware that United Airlines had to temporarily close our Denver Catering facility for repairs. The repairs were supposed to be completed by January however due to issues beyond our control, there is now not a timeline given for the facility to open back up for us. Passengers will still receive the "dinner" or "lunch" shown on the flight and the reservations however please know that at this time we have limited resources for catering. I certainly understand your frustration and disappointment as when our passengers are expecting a meal and are actually handed a snack it is rather shocking. Our inflight crew was informed of the closure and should be advising our passengers of the current situation, which appears not to be happening. I know that I can not go back and make all those flights better for you as far as meals are concerned, but please accept my goodwill gesture of 15,000 miles to be added to your MileagePlus account. The mileage will be reflected in your account balance within 48 hours. |

There's excellent food at both ORD and DEN. Enjoy the F trip with the family to Kona hopefully the limeless mules won't get you down too much... Any chance to re-route?

I got no mileage from them for my DEN-HNL flight but then I didn't complain directly, just gave them a terrible feedback in the after-flight survey.

This thread is depressing me. Booked 5 tix on the DEN-KOA flight next month from Toronto connecting through Chicago (rough day but great sale for F back in Oct). Celebrating my mom’s year after brain surgery for stage 4 cancer and wanted to treat her to a special trip. The food isn’t that important but no limes for mules!?! It’s just disappointing when you plan something to wow someone and this happens. It does take away from the experience.
Funny, I found this thread because united called to say they didn’t have the kids meals I ordered (I thought they did when I booked). Meanwhile, my kids will be thrilled with the burger/pizza and creepy fruit cup. It’s more like there’s no adult meal. At least I know to not skip the priority pass restaurant in DEN... |
Home base is Denver (1K0, and I fly paid F. The catering situation has been a complete joke. Multiple flights that list "dinner/lunch" have passed the "chips and chocolate" basket, or the dreaded undressed burger. Don't get me started on the "fruit cup."
I finally wrote the 1k email as beyond the original October notification email, I've received no other information (other than this board). Just received a phone call from UA. They're sending a $50 Visa card "to cover [my] next lunch on [their] dime." Agent also communicated they have "no status" on a resolution but are working to get that information. E |

Speaking of the Priority Pass restaurant... would that happen to be in the same terminal from where UA leaves for LIH? I have a 2 1/2 hour layover. I might as well go there and kill some time and get some food.

Denver airport noob... where in relation is C compared to where UA leaves to go to LIH? An easy walk? Or is it like DFW and requires a train ride?
Thanks Not as big a deal as DFW, imo! |

Thanks The bigger wildcard in how long it takes to get from the restaurant in C to your gate actually may be how long it takes to walk from the train in terminal B to your gate, because terminal B is extremely long. They usually put larger planes closer to the center (AKA closer to the train) as the gate areas are larger but a 752 might be out a little farther, depending on gate availability. I would take the 7 minutes for the train ride and add 5 minutes if your gate is close to the center, maybe 10 if if you have to walk halfway to the end. Very unlikely you'll have to go all the way to the end as those are usually smaller mainline planes or UX flights. There are moving walkways that are usually working but are guaranteed to be out of service if you're counting on them. |
