WOW! 440+ posts over 4 months and about what? Following this thread, I have to believe that UA is so tone deaf that they shouldn’t be running an airline and that they should apologize, send everyone who has ever flown UA a voucher to their favorite 5 star restaurant, and shut down operations and Oh yes, fire all the staff and management involved with food service decisions. I wonder just how many posters have real knowledge of operations at UA’s food service operations at DEN? For that matter any airline food service operation?

Source an improved BOB like offering and instruct the FAs to unwrap them. Get it from the same supplier. Costs $$$. |

I love when "solutions" are presented as binary choices. United can either spend 10s of Millions of Dollars to address their catering shortfalls, or throw BOB Economy food at their First Class customers. United can either communicate in a condescending & disingenuous manner, or not communicate at all. Customers can either accept substandard service, or just stop complaining. Customers absolutely have a binary decision: they patronize United or they don’t. They can also complain or be silent. There are no other options for customers. I would point out that United has not communicated, which is a failing. To say that their communication is a failure, condescending, or disingenuous is twisting the situation to achieve a desired narrative.

We've covered the same ground many times in this thread, in part because UA has been slow and uncommunicative about what is going on in DEN. So here's a new idea.
How about UA issue a catering waiver to all F pax booked through DEN? For those who connect through there, like I will in a couple of weeks, there are often other options. And for those who originate or end their trips there, if it's very important to have a meal in F, there are other carriers who could provide this option. Considering UA will now issue "severe" weather waivers when a snow flurry or some drizzle is predicted at its hubs, why not a catering waiver to mitigate the storm of grievances from its front cabin pax? And the best part is that such a solution would be self-regulating. Those who don't care about the food in flight will happily continue with their original booked routing, and those of us who do care will shift around to avoid any problems. @:-) No Denver Airlift is needed to solve this problem in a way that won't tank quarterly earnings. :) But more creative thinking is required. That's what I teach transportation students, by the way. |

That's is what they decided - you might not agree, and if bothers someone so much then fly someone else - I personally don't relate to that though - I don't what kind of food you used to be eating in First - but it must have been something different than what I was eating in First out of DEN. |

Can we get a three-month update on where we are on this? Some FLTs seem to have meals, others not? Was it listeria? Binge reading this whole thread is a pain when I have an F flight out on Monday and just want to know if I need to bring something, since it is a late flight and dinner ins't an option when I land.

Within the last 2 weeks, a few flights have seen "enhanced" entrees (almost back to where they were pre-listeria, think lentil chili, beef mac & cheese, etc.), but there are still no fresh fruits or vegetables (no salads, no lettuce/tomato for the burgers they're serving) included with those meals. You're more likely to happen on a burger or pizza than anything else. The only flight that's been reported to still have real meal service is DEN-NRT, which is allegedly being catered out of IAD on the outbound and obviously NRT on the return. Bottom line: Eat in the airport or buy something in the airport to consume on board. That's the only answer. |

Can you live with a burger/pizza and shelf stable pineapple pieces? If so, then don't bring any emergency rations. If not, then do. |

if your flight is shorter than 3 hours or on UX you get the prepackaged processed cheese like product box sometimes with Hummus and Chips as a second choice if your flight is longer, your choices are beef provoncale with Mac and cheese or Lentil Chili. No salad or veggies |

DEN-EWR today same half ready stuff. Beef or lentils. Fruit was enhanced to tropical fruit cup instead of pineapple
