Information for passengers departing with Eurowings:
- Passengers who have booked a SMART or BEST fare and who have a Miles & More HON Circle Member or Senator card have access to Lufthansa Senator and Business Lounges on the day of their departure.
- Passengers who have booked a SMART fare and who have a Miles & More Frequent Traveller card have access to Lufthansa Business Lounges on the day of their departure.
- Passengers who have booked a BEST fare have access to Lufthansa Business Lounges on the day of their departure.
- Passengers who have a Star Alliance Gold card only have access to Lufthansa’s Senator and Business Lounges if they are customers of United Airlines (UA) or All Nippon Airways (NH).
The german version of the Lufthansa website clearly says that no fare restriction apply.

Gäste, die eine Star Alliance Gold Card besitzen, haben nur dann Zugang zu den Senator und Business Lounges der Lufthansa, wenn sie Kunden der Fluggesellschaften United Airlines (UA) und All Nippon Airways (NH) sind. Dies ist von dem gebuchten Tarif unabhängig.

[LH Lounge access] Advice for passengers who are departing with Eurowings:
- Passengers have free access to the Lufthansa Senator and Business Lounges in Germany provided they have a Miles & More HON Circle Member or Senator Card.
- Passengers who have booked the Eurowings BEST fare and Frequent Travellers who have booked the SMART fare are entitled to use the Lufthansa Business Lounges on the day of their flight.
- Passengers who have a Star Alliance Gold Card, however, do not have access to the Lufthansa Lounges. Exceptions to this are the Star Alliance Gold Card customers of the airlines United Airlines (UA) and All Nippon Airways (NH), who receive access to Lufthansa’s Senator and Business Lounges.
- Not confirmed, but plausible: Rules will change from March 26, 2017:
Access to LH Lounge is only possible when departing on a SMART or BEST fare. BASIC fare does not entitle to lounge access.
Does UA *G get lounge access when flying Eurowings?

Two more experiences with UA *G on my recent trip. Eurowings BASIC flight without eTix or Codeshare.
LH SEN Lounge LHR: Lounge staff was informed about the United exception, access with no problem (including companion)
LH SEN Lounge TXL: agent was a bit confused but could not find any rule about UA customers not having access. So after some minutes access was granted as well.

This 1K was NOT granted lounge access on an Eurowings BASIC fare.
First LH Dragon just threw up her hand indicating the access policy for Eurowings was too cumbersome.
The second dragon said there was a policy change for UA*G and she said the LH website will be updated by March 2017.
(Why yes, she did indicated an event which has yet to occur in the past. Haha).
On my next Eurowings flight in January, I booked in SMART fare (for a position flight to VIE for a BR flight), I’ll report on lounge access then.
I sat in the STR Priority Pass Lounge. Sufficient but not LH.

I encourage you to reach out to Lufthansa Customer Relations to report that you were refused entry at STR, despite the bilateral agreement between United and Lufthansa to allow United's *G customers to access the Senator Lounge when traveling with Germanwings/Eurowings.

With a boarding pass for a domestic or international, short or medium-haul flight with Eurowings or Germanwings at the BASIC fare, Senators have no longer had access to the lounges since 29 October 2017.

BASIC fares are not supposed to give access anymore.

Bag allowance depends on ticket's allowance, no UA elite benefits.
