I'm with you. The constant snafus with no apology from UA, no response to customer service issues for over a month is simply not worth my time or money |

Purchased a roundtrip B class fare. Upgraded both segments at time of booking. Outbound flight posted as B with 125% Award miles and 150% PQMs.
Return flight posted as PN with Award miles at 100% and 150% PQMs. Close, but still having issues. (Three A class segments are still posted as ZH with no bonuses.) I called MPSC today and had to explain 3 times that it wasn't the PQMs I was concerned about, it was the RDM 25% bonus for the Y fare not crediting. My B--->PN outbound segment on the itin posted PQMs and RDMs correctly. Finally, I had to point the agent to look at my B-PN segment and ask her to make the Y-JN do the same. |
In a new twist to the time it takes to get through to them: I had to call them today to check seats after an equipment change (theirs not mine) and got no announcement, nothing, straight through to a lady that was as shocked as I was. I asked her not to fix it, so if that happens to you then thank me.

Just called in to miles redeposited from a cancelled award trip from 3 weeks ago. Was on hold so long that the agent said she would be requesting additional miles be redeposited (said it would be 5k additional). She definitely didn't have to do that, but could this be the return of the old UA way of appeasing issues of elites by giving miles, I certainly hope so! ^^^^

This is very curious as I walked up to a kiosk in Denver, placed my passport in face down and held firmly in place and the reader started blinking, then asked for the first three letters of my destination city and it worked perfectly. No card required by an agent.
"All of the above can be handled at an airport kiosk." Really? Well if that's true then why isn't my information already stored, hmm? And while I'm at it - I have two PNRs I'm flying on tomorrow. I'm signed into united.com - I am even viewing a list of my itineraries. Now I go to the Navigation Bar and choose the option for Checking In. I get a page that asks for either 1) PNR 2) eTicket Number 3) MileagePlus Number in that order. So, my sign-on data didn't pass through to this page? And then when I enter my M+ number, I get told I have multiple itineraries and need to enter PNR or eTicket. If the system is smart enough to know I have multiple itineraries, perhaps it could display them and allow me the privilege of selecting the one I want? Would that be so hard? |

ETA: At 58 minutes of the working on it, MP tells me I need to go back to the 1K desk because my miles should have shown up in my account right away. 1K points the finger at MP and MP points the finger at 1K. I'm in the middle of this clown show. I must want my 40K miles back! ETA: At 98 minutes through the assistance of 1K Customer Relations I have the 40K back in my account. |

And I got cranky about it after 5 days! So I've been on hold with them for 34 minutes and counting. The MP rep said they are working on February requests now. :td::td::td::td::td:
I finally manged to find the original confirmation email, and she was able to find the reservation only using the original PMUA confirmation number. The miles did hit my account within a couple of hours after that. |

So, despite scanning my passport and being identified at the kiosk back when I posted this, today I was told my documents have to be checked before I can check in internationally and ... wait for it....

To address your situation, didn't the PMUA system find multiple itins when you ID'd yourself at the kiosk with your CC, your MP card, MP number, etc? And, to begin checkin you simply touched the button with today's itin? And, if you chose the wrong one, you'd get a message telling you that that itin wasn't available for checkin? It was way back in 2009 or so when that last happened to me but I seem to remember that. |
UAInsider: Y-up and B-ups not getting the proper 25% Fare Class bonus RDMs

My B-up to PN posted the proper RDM with the fare class 25% bonus and the 50% PQM bonus for the B fare BUT the Y-up to JN turned out exactly as yours did. PQS got the 50% bonus but the 25% RDM bonus went missing. UAInsider multiple customers have reported trouble with RDM fare class bonus for Y and B when upgraded. It appears to be the ON issue all over again, due to the decision to multipurpose fare codes for both paid and award bookings. Can you please add this to the list for fixes? Thank you! |

At least you were standing at an airport kiosk WITH A DOCUMENT SCANNER. I wanted to scan my passport with one, so that UA would have my passport info for the next time I traveled internationally. I couldn't find any at SFO last week; they were all new ones with a credit card reader and a slot for delivering your BP and that's it. Yet, the screen on the stupid thing said, "Welcome. To begin...wait for it...scan your passport" Scan it how, exactly?

Apparently co.com didn't support that before. Maybe with the longer term redesign plans, they will. |

The scenario I was describing was online check-in, not at the kiosk. Doing the online check-in, I'm redirected to go scan my passport - something I did two weeks ago without issue. As for the kiosks you are describing at SFO - I'm not sure which ones you were trying to use but almost every kiosk I've seen has a passport reader at SFO. They may not be perfectly labeled, but they had them.
I may be a complete idiot, but I don't think so though some on FT may disagree... and the bank of kiosks at the unmanned CS area near gate 80, I think , at SFO didn't appear to have any way of scanning a BP. There was only the CC reader like gas pumps have, and the slot where your BP is delivered. I had to go to DEN to find an older kiosk with a grocery store-style 3 x 3 inch scanning pad. |

Haven't been able to log in via the iPhone app since yesterday afternoon. BTW, posting time averaging 96 hours (not 72) for me |
I still have an itinerary where the domestic F portion of an international flight, upgraded with a GPU, is still showing ON for the fare basis. Wasn't that supposed to have been resolved weeks ago in one of the many sweeps?
