Booked the following in J for dad:

13 May
BEY-IST TK827 A321/shown as A32N, seatmap: 5 rows AC DF
IST-TLS TK1805 A320, 3 rows AC DF

1 June
TLS-IST TK1806 A321/A32R, 3 rows AB EF
IST-BEY TK826 A321/A32R, 5 rows AC DF

Based on what I read so far, IST-TLS flights will have proper recliner seats, whereas the BEY IST ones will just be Y+ seating. Am I on the money with this?

What's odd is that neither KVS nor EF could pull up the seatmaps in Y for any of the flights.

Thanks

I am going to fly with TK 1821 on May 7.
According to flight schedule of TK official website, the equipment will be A330-300.
Seat selection says it will be B737-800, but Y class starts from row 11.
I could not find this type of B737-800 on both Seatguru and the official website.

I am also going to fly with TK 1828 on May 12.
According to flight schedule of TK official website, the equipment will be A330-300.
Seat selection says it will be B737-800, but Y class starts from row 7.
I could not find this type of B737-800 on both Seatguru and the official website.

I am deeply confusing what type of equipment will be used actually?

Records show that over the last couple of days TK1821 has always been the A330

1828 had a mix but always widebodies.

IST/CMN 9 April aircraft substitution

flew from IST to CMN/Casablanca on 9 April on what was supposed to be an A343 - instead was an A321 (with the old config - i didn't even know that there were 2 possibilities until just now reviewing this thread, as i didn't really absorb posts on the 321 before the trip)

the service in J was excellent and we were pretty jetlagged from flying ORD/IST the day before, so we were not too perturbed - but the guy behind us was livid and vociferously berated the flight crew about TK's dishonesty - apparently this happens to him a lot and especially if he's paying for J i can see why he was ticked off funny thing was that after this loud tirade, i saw him joking and laughing with the crew in the galley an hour later!

further evidence if any needed that TK does a lot of a/c substitution

I'm flying TK 1588, route FRA-IST, 11:45-15:45 on 17Jul2014 (as part of a YYZ-FRA-IST business class reward booking). The schedule says A330 but when I do a "test" booking on turkishairlines.com it says B737-800 and shows rows 1-6 (not 1-3 nor 1-5) configured AC and DF.

I also checked the records for this flight (http://uk.flightaware.com/live/fligh...945Z/EDDF/LTBA) and see that, at least recently, it has been operated by a widebody but sometimes by an A321 (or even a A320 once).

Any thoughts on what I could actually expect on my flight? FYI, I actually could have booked an earlier connection (our YYZ-FRA flight is scheduled to arrive at 06:25) but didn't want the 07:25 narrowbody (TK 1598) nor the 09:10 Lufthansa A321 (LH 1298). I figured it would be better to spend a few hours in a FRA lounge after our overnight flight and then fly to IST in the big/flat bed seats on the A330 at 11:45, plus I hope I don't have to worry too much about the YYZ-FRA flight being delayed.

Hi all.

I'm flying TK 1849, route IST-ATH, on May 18. TK shows A321 used on this route, but the seat-map on TK website shows the economy starts at row 4, but seatguru shows A321 economy starts at row 5?? Note, when I originally booked it was scheduled to be operated by a 737....

I am also flying TK 1846, route ATH-IST, on June 2. This flight is very strange..... TK shows it is being operated by an A330-300 (!!!) and the online seat-map seems to back this up. I thought this was an error, but it has appeared this way for a few weeks now. When I originally booked my tickets, I believe it was scheduled to be operated by an A321...

Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

I'm guessing "As always TK equipment may change" is also the answer to my FRA-IST question too. Is that particularly true for TK??? Based on the recent flightaware records for TK1588, it seems that I at least have a decent chance of getting a widebody.

If I arrive in FRA on time (from YYZ) *and* see that my FRA-IST flight is actually going to have the "old" business class seats (i.e. tray over the middle seat), then I might see if they'll switch me to an earlier flight. Does that sound like a good plan?

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will have to pick my seat assignments based on the seatmap it is showing me and hope for the best!

How is the roll out of the new J seat coming along? When is it expected to be on all of TK's long haul aircraft?

What aircraft from IAH-IST post July 27?

My family is booked on a flight in October and I noticed they discontinued selling Comfort class via another thread after July. Will they be flying the leased Jet or will it still be a Turkish 777?

It will be one of the new 77Ws TK receives in the next weeks.
Seven rows of Business Class 2-3-2, no Comfort Class.

The space between doors 2 and 3 will be occupied by rows 5-7 of Business Class and the rest is Y.

Turkish Airlines Business Class

I am planning an upcoming trip and am trying to decide whether to book a seat in Business Class on Turkish Airways. The aircraft is a Boeing 737-800. The flight is between Edinburgh (EDI) and Istanbul.
Has anyone flown this route in Business Class?
Is Turkish Airways Business Class amazing or not so amazing?
Any insights would be appreciated.

First, it's Turkish Airlines, not Turkish Airways

TK's business class is in my opinion hands down the best in Europe. The problem is that the hard product is not streamlined. You may end up on an economy seat with the middle one blocked or you may get a real business class seat, it depends on the aircraft.

Their product is more consistent in long haul service but if you got a good deal I would definitely say go for it.
