You're regretting your decision to apply because it take a while for the application to be processed???

I'll only be travelling to Canada for the next 5 months. Probably wasn't even worth it to get it for those 5 months, but I made a poor decision to buy it without researching more thoroughly.

You still get global entry out of it

I just booked an interview at the Toronto temporary location at 2935 Convair Dr. Does this place have IRIS?

I can't find any info on this.
Is it the building on google maps on convair drive? Or is this address just an address to describe the airport?
Is it a one stop shop for Nexus?

Please don't reply "check the website" unless you insert a website address, I have searched everywhere and can't find a phone number or any mention of this location other than the dropdown in the schedule appointment section.

Actually already have GE. I'll just have to live with my bad decision

I love how you own up to it as a bad decision. I wish some of my bad decisions only set me back $50

Anyway, you might end up needing it at some point in the future... No harm in having it!

When I look on Google for that address and see Streetview, I see a building with a GTAA sign out front, some kind of support centre. If they are subleasing temporary space, that sounds like a plausible partnership to me.
See this image.

Second ffsim's opinion. Really? $50? If you think that's an expensive mistake, enjoy the cost of living on your trips here over the next few months. You never know. Some day it may come in handy, and your upcoming trips may coincide nicely with the timing of your interview invitation and make it that much more convenient to get the card for possible future use.

I have my interview on the 18th. I'm a bit concerned that I'll be refused. Back in may I was given an I-275 form and had withdrawn stamped on my passport. I was trying to return to the usa about a week after returning. There was a family emergency and I was trying to go back on a one way. I was able to withdraw because of lack of ties to my home country of canada.

It says on my form that I was given a 7a1 letter but I only received the I-275. It says on the form in violation of 212 a7aiI but nothing on my passport. Simply a stamp with application withdrawn as well as index fingerprint and photo. I still have the paperwork. Should I bring it and my old passport? I know that when they take my prints this will come up.

Welcome to FT.

By the time they take your interview, there's nothing to be discovered by your prints unless you have been living under an assumed name with the previous passport. They know everything about the person using your name.

I don't know what an I-275 is and I imagine a lot of people here don't either, but the bottom line is that if you have "conditional approval", you should go into the interview assuming that whatever your history is, it is not a deal breaker for them. They don't want to waste their own time, even if they were willing to waste yours.

You may find that they do not come right out and ask about it, but they will very likely ask one or more questions that require that you mention it. For instance, they asked me if I had ever lived in the USA. That information was not on my application because it was outside the date range, but clearly they knew it, and were looking to see if I would disclose it.

Be straightforward and forthcoming. Do not try to cover or hide anything, but at the same time, do not blurt out a bunch of stuff. Tell them if there are inaccuracies on your form, i.e., typos, or new documents received since applying, but then let them do their job.

That said, I'm not a professional or consultant in this area. We're all just "fellow travellers" here, but I have been following this thread since I joined and that is the outlook I've formed based on my own experience and what I've read from FTers on this thread.

Hockeywife88 Oct 4, 2014 7:14 pm

No assumed name. The old passport is under my married name and I'm now using my maiden name again, however I included it on my application truthfully as an other known name.

flyquiet Oct 4, 2014 7:22 pm

My comment about the assumed name was more or less facetious. It would be risky to try to get NEXUS if one had aliases and such. You should feel comfortable going for the interview and being straightforward with them. I expected it to be a grilling, but in fact the officers were young women in my case, and a mature woman and very nice man in my daughter's case. In addition to verifying stuff you told them already and things they found that were not asked about on the application, I would say 80% of our "interviews" consisted of actually indoctrination training in the rules of using NEXUS and the mechanics of using the machines. It wasn't really a decision-making process. The Conditional Approval is the decision unless something goes funny at the face to face verification. Enjoy your interview.

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it

I haven't heard anyone mention it yet, but has anyone been to Ottawa and experienced the new NEXUS kiosks? I'm interested to see what they look like and how they perform.

I have an upcoming trip at YTZ in December, which hopefully those ones are swapped out by then.

2935 Convair Drive Info

I called the other Nexus office in Toronto.
They informed me that this is a temporary office so they can catch up on backlog. It has everything needed for a Nexus and fairly good availability.
It is also outside of the airport, so its just a normal building with parking and easier to get to.

I read in the Sun that it's mainly to do with people wanting Nexus cards to go and see Bills games! Amazing what sports and money will do in these two countries!
