Yes. I did just that on a YUL - YYZ last week where the security line-up was insane.

There are virtually no questions from the agents with Nexus arriving back into Canada as once you've scanned your iris all they've ever asked me is if I've got the receipt from the machine and if I've completed the declarations form and wave me on through. Usually there's nobody ahead of you so it's super quick.

Going into U.S. it's rarely more than a simple question or two, like where are you going, how long and then a wave through.

Usual gamut of questions - Where are you going, why, who do you work for etc.

I'd been meaning to post about this... but now have crossed many many more times (recently) and feel my experience has added up to one acronymic reply: YMMV!

I also thought like morphius909 that TT (Nexus) meant less questions. However, I crossed initially at land borders with no Nexus lane, so I had all the usual questions. I figured that was normal as they just don't deal with Nexus. But then I went across at a Nexus spot while the lane was closed. No difference. Then I went through a Nexus lane into the U.S. and for the first time EVER (in probably almost 20 years of regular land crossings) they wanted to look in my trunk!! Not sure if the agent was bored or suspicious!

However, the last few trips into the US (I am a US citizen btw) I had almost zero questions. And the Canadian entry questions two days ago were the briefest ever. I've been crossing once a week or more for the past few months. I've yet to experience airport CBP on the TT program though!

Summary: it's really a varied experience... the definition of YMMV. :)

Trust everyone completely, and you give people incentive to get NEXUS and then to turn very, very dishonest.

Agree!

We have a family appointment at YVR. Looks like we are going to be an hour late. Do you think they will accommodate us? They won't answer the phone.

spot checks??

took the red eye back to YYZ last week and used nexus, no secondary card. However this time when passing the initial declaration card checker i was randomly pulled over by an officer standing between there and the elevator, asked for dox, passport and nexus card....... questioned pretty good and finally sent on my way. I was surprised as i know there is random selection from the machine but was under the impression that once you had your card as a trusted traveler they would not stop you. I guess the phrase 'we reserve the right to inspect at any time' was never truer lol

I got a new I-94 for my TN status this week (old one had been ripped out by an overzealous airline).
Can I update the number onto my records online or at a Global Entry enrolment location (I'll be going through LAX tomorrow), or is it only possible at a Nexus enrolment location?

The letter confirming the appointment stated they wanted to inspect the two cars that I have on file with them: my own and my wife's. Since I can only drive one car at a time, has anyone resolved this little problem in the past?

FWIW both US and Canadian agents said they don't care about vehicles and have no idea why it is still on the application and renewal forms. Both said not to bother filling it out or updating the info. Driver's licence they're still interested in though.

Got home from Ft Erie and the Approved e-mail was in my Inbox. ^

Odd that. I tried to update my DL in YYZ last week, and they had no interest in it.

I'm not sure if they are interested in the number. While I was waiting everyone who came in had to hand in their Conditional Approval letter, passport, NEXUS card (if it was a renewal) and their driver's licence. All were carried away out of sight so they may do some sort of check that you are clean.

Got mine back after seeing the second agent.

Hmmm. Global Entry Enrolment guy was insistent (really strongly) that there's nothing to update when you simply get a new I-94 for your TN on either Nexus or Global Entry.

Guess I'll use Global Entry only until I can get to a Nexus office during opening hours.

Not really - You just have you standardize your variables.

As a -

1) Canadian citizen
2) Travelling to the USA
3) Travelling on business
4) Travelling at a crossing where you interact with an officer (such as YVR as opposed to YYZ)

...then the experience is not really varied. You move to the front of the line, and you answer the why / where / when questions.

Change a variable (YYZ / Heading to Disneyland / American heading into Canada) then yes, mileage varies.

Ummm. No.

1. USA entry as US citizen: have been asked questions ranging from ONE (got any alcohol/tobacco/firearms, "no", have a nice day then) to about ten... where have you been/how long etc. (as well as the aforementioned trunk search). All at the SAME border crossing too. Variety at others on top of that.

2. Canadian questions have varied greatly as well, though they usually ask more, as I am US citizen.

As a current Nexus member, do I need to make an appointment to enroll
in G/E at YYZ? My GOES profile does not provide me with the option to
enroll in G/E.

You should be able to stop in a NEXUS enrollment cent and register your fingerprints. You should then be able to use GE.
