Today at YVR US Customs 14:30, the agent was great, we simply gave him our boarding pass, the nexus print out, US customs declaration and I think 11 seconds you were through........that's the way I like it^

I used NEXUS to enter Canada, and GE to enter the US. The most I was asked was in the YVR baggage claim area going into Canada, when a CBSA officer stopped me and asked what I was doing, and I explained my trip. She said I should expect a lot of questions. I never really got any. Going into the US, I think the most I ever had to say was "I'm trying to earn a lot of frequent flyer miles through an Air Canada promotion.". Sometimes it was "Where are you going?" "Newark". Other times just handed the card and have a nice day. Going into Canada, one time, the person at the exit, who took my NEXUS form, asked the purpose of my trip. "I'm trying to earn a lot of frequent flyer miles." "Have a nice day." Never in my life have I been more glad I signed up for NEXUS/GE than this trip. I can't imagine the lines I would have had to wait in, and the interrogation I would have received, had I not been a pre-approved trusted traveler. |

I didn't even know I needed to bring one. They told me to bring BC next time I come to Canada.

Applied for renewal on 4/30, received conditional approval on 6/14, first appointment available in Montreal was on 9/18 but today there was a spot that freed up for next week that I quickly grabbed!

Does anyone know if getting LASIK done has any impact on your iris scan post-surgery?

Not my personal experience but upthread there are posts indicating that they have decided that SOME renewals MAY not require an interview. They are reserving the prerogative to continue to interview renewals but from the previous posts, the approved renewal card should simply arrive in the mail.

Are there no GE terminals at YVR? I was through last week and luckily it was a slow mid-afternoon but I was looking around for NEXUS or GE and a USCBP firmly advised me to get back in the regular line.

Yes there is, I was there on Sunday June 16th and there was two GE Machines with a sign saying the custom card was not needed and two Nexus machines with a sign saying you need your customs card if you use nexus.

I didn't see that on 6th June at all. I even mentioned I was NEXUS and it got no reaction at all beyond the advisory to get back in line.
Going in that way, as soon as you enter the customs hall from security, go right along the wall. Do not take more than two steps into the room before making that right turn. Then there are 2 NEXUS machines and 2 GE machines, and you get to a different line where you hand them to a CBP officer, who may or may not ask you anything. The most I was ever asked was "Where are you going?" and "Why?" |

For connections, there is no NEXUS or GE, so if you have no checked luggage, exit and go in as a new passenger.

What's to stop you for doing this if you're also a connecting passenger with checked bags?

Yes, I know.
So its it likely I'll have to get a rescan then? Would I need an appointment? |

Ok.
So its it likely I'll have to get a rescan then? Would I need an appointment? I think you'll be fine and won't need a re-scan. |
