Is this new? Nice that they send it out. Confirms what many of us know:
Streamlined Renewal Process For the majority of renewing members who have not had changes to their information and have maintained their low-risk status, the renewal interview may be waived

There seemed to be some lack of clarity if it was working or not. I was mostly mentioning what *I* saw as the highlight of the newsletter, and that there is one. |
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9780; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.448 Mobile Safari/534.8+)
It gives one hope when you see a program run so well by agencies of government (in this case *two* governments) that they stand as excellent example to even the private sector. If AC/AP added features of such quality and with such frequency this would be a different forum altogether. |

Has this happened to you?
In YLW, last fight out, airport was a ghost town, no line anywhere, all of the screening people were just standing there waiting for something to do. Little old lady (70+) walks towards security, instead of zig-zagging trought the normal line, took the direct approach and used the straight nexus line. The security lady rejected her and made her walk back and zig zag through the mundane line (even though there was no line, they never took down the ropes). If there was a single person in line, I would have said that it is definitely appropriate. I saw all that as I walked towards security and I intentionally walk into the nexus line. The security lady challenged me and pronounced proudly "ARE YOU A NEXUS HOLDER", I looked around at the empty airport and said "yes, yes I am", in kind of a deflated voice she asked for my card. She examined it for like 5 minutes, seriously, it would have been faster if I had zig-zaged through at snails pace; either she has never seen a nexus card or she is trying find a flaw in it and make me walk back to zig-zag through the empty mundane line. I am not saying that the security person's behaviour is inappropriate, it was just strange. |
The NEXUS Information Thread
Applied: October 4
Conditional Approval: November 21 I live in Newfoundland, so getting an appointment that works will be a challenge. I nearly always transit YYZ when traveling trans-border, so hopefully an appointment will open up at an opportune time. |

So to use Pre-check as a nexus cardholder I need to register with the airline I am flying before I get to the airport? If so, where do I do this?

I live there as well but got an appointment in Halifax for the very next day. They are not as busy at that airport performing the NExus interviews as they are in the other canadian cities. If you can find a reason to go there i would and avoid the wait.
I may get to that point, but I'm holding out for YYZ for now. |

Thanks! I noticed that as well. I looked at reward options to YHZ, but the charges with Aeroplan don't make it worthwhile. I don't want to use my more valuable United miles for this either. Revenue tickets aren't cheap enough to justify it.
