FWIW: Availability at JFK AND EWR is WIDE OPEN.
I remember when I applied 4 years ago that I had to wait a month to get a spot. My GF applied this week and basically she can pick any date/time as soon as today if she really wanted... If you are waiting for Bowling Green and need it sooner, it is probably better to trek out to JFK and get it done easy. |
Moderator's Action
A recent inquiry about walk-in interview at MKE was moved to the relevant thread:

So I had been conditionally approved on 6/23 and immediately started looking at my local office (Tucson). Next available appointment was 7/6 at the time (Phoenix was worse). While perusing other Arizona locations such as Nogales, Douglas, and San Luis since they were offering next day availability I noticed that a time slot on 6/25 opened up in Tucson so I immediately grabbed it. I think someone else rescheduled or cancelled while I was perusing locations.
I was early, started my interview after a previous applicant was done, and finished before my scheduled appointment time. Less than five minutes. |
We had interviews scheduled in August at MCO. These are our backup appointments to be used if our international flight arrives late into ATL and we can't do Enrollment on Arrival. 2 out of 4 interviews were cancelled due to a "temporary reduction" in the office. At MCO they normally have two interview slots per 15 mins and t seems like they've reduced them to 1 which is why half of our interviews got cancelled. We've rescheduled them for about 9 days later.

Anybody had their GE interview at SEA or Boeing field recently? Both show as no appointments available on the cbp website leaving Blaine which is >2hours away. Just wondering if the scheduling site/tool is misbehaving or if they've really stopped taking appointments.
Thanks. |
If anyone is in Minnesota and can make the drive to International Falls, I highly recommend it. We had an interview for MSP scheduled for September 23rd (conditional approval was received the first week of July and that was the first available appointment), but this is for my daughter and she didn't want to miss any school. So we decided to drive to International Falls and do it there instead. On the TTP website it's a little weird...there are two options for International Falls and the information on the front page indicates they don't do interviews on Fridays. This is NOT the case, as we just did our daughter's on July 19th and there was wide open availability two days before when I scheduled the interview. The GE interviews are at an administration building that is not at the border crossing. The CBP agent who did our interview was super nice and chatty and he did tell us that someone has to drive from the border station to the administration building to do GE/NEXUS interviews. It's only about a mile, but you should definitely schedule an interview rather than trying to walk in. I kept watching the appointments and there is same-day availability so going through the scheduling process shouldn't be an issue.
We did want to go over the border to Canada so my daughter could say she's been there, and the CBP agent gave us directions on how to walk there rather than driving so we could save the $7 toll that is charged to cross the bridge in a vehicle. It was a little surreal to walk into another country and neither side really has any solid barriers or fences in IF. Our processing into both countries was very informal. Very different from an airport port of entry! |

For everyone who is looking for an appointment for an interview...
Remember, with Enrollment on Arrival (and for many other reasons), people holding appointments get their interviews early or otherwise reschedule booked interview slots. Even at an enrollment center that shows fully booked for months in advance, interview slots appear throughout the day - simply because the people holding those slots either make a change or else do an EoA interview. Keep checking. Several times a day. Interview slots open up all the time. All any one person needs is ONE interview slot. Keep checking. I needed 3 appointments at ORD on July 16th, really needed them in the afternoon too. No way, right? I checked on the 14th and 1 opened up (315pm), booked it. Checked the next morning, 1 more opened up (3pm!). Checked a couple hours later... another 315 opened up! I absolutely couldn't believe it! Worked out flawlessly! The 3 of us had our interviews together and had just THE nicest guy. Definitely keep checking especially at the last minute!!! Good luck! |
Cancellation
So I applied for a GE renewal back in March
Was conditionally approved in June (after I also got a new passport), so on July 1 I scheduled an interview at the Memphis GE Enrollment center for today. TSA Emailed me that I had the CA. A week later they cancelled my GE renewal interview - and never bothered to email me to notify me of the cancellation. I get to the MEM GE center today and its locked up tighter than a drum. Another gentleman was scheduled for the 0945 slot and he was also not informed his appt had been cancelled. I login to the Trusted Traveler Portal and yeah, a week later they cancelled my appointment without sending a notification. Thanks for nothing :( |

Do you mean how long did it take for her conditional approval to be received so I could schedule an interview? I think it was 5 days from application submission to conditional approval. There is another thread on these forums about those timelines.

Any recent experiences at ATL on getting an interview time? Right now it is showing January 2020 as the earliest available... I'm going to keep a check for cancellations, but I may have to look elsewhere.

Just got a conditional approval and trying to find an opening at CLT. "No appointments available." Regardless of what I set for a date range or soonest available or whatever. Through August 2020, "No Appointments." Is this what you saw? They just say "Sorry, booked... forever"? And you have to constantly check to see if something opens up? |
Update for anyone who'd like to get an interview at CLT:
Per my post the other week the situation seemed pretty bleak; online scheduler showed no appointments available at any time in the future. Gave them a call and asked a few questions. With respect to walk-ins at CLT, they do accept a limited number. While customs opens at 8am, the person I was talking to said something to the effect of, "If you really want to try it, I'd say don't be in line any time later than 630am. There are people in line as early as 430am. And once we take as many people as we can, that's that. Doesn't matter how far you drove, came from Raleigh, if you're going to call your congressman, whatever. When it's done it's done." With regard to appointments, they are/were (at the time of the call) booked through the end of 2019. However, they suggested continuing to check online for openings, and that towards the end of this month (August '19 as I write this) some more openings should be becoming available, might even be some night time appointments available, but they just couldn't go live with that calendar just yet. I kept checking the online schedule at least daily if not multiple times a day, and eventually some openings did appear! One was the same day and I couldn't take off work. Then some opened up end of September, which I'm currently slated for. Moral of the story is keep checking, they do appear! |
I signed up and was approved for GE in mid July. There was nothing available in my home state, I ended up driving 3+hrs to Detroit/Ambassador Bridge. The interview was scheduled a month out, though there were spotty times available earlier at the airport none of them would work with my schedule.
Interview was ~10 minutes in and out. Got my GE card a week later in the post. A good excuse for a day trip to a city I hadn’t been to in a while I guess. |
I was looking at scheduling appointments in January at this point.
Found the SFO @goesbot on Twitter. I was able to score an interview today, and on Sunday for my wife. So we will both be GE approved within a week of our conditional approval. You just have to be quick on the draw, and flexible with the schedule. |

You may want to go with your wife and see if they would take you both at the same time.
I was done by 820 and still at work by 9. My wife got a Sunday 11:15 appointment from the Twitter bot. |

Keep checking the website for an appointment. I received my CA this morning as well and did not have any available appointments at DFW. Checked back a few hours later and they had an opening for 9/26.
|
No appointments available in the Houston area unless you have a boarding pass... :-\ ZERO.

I'm also seeing that JFK is wide open; however, there's no availability past November 30. I assume that's this because they only release interviews x months out, but can anyone confirm this is correct?

Our closest airport is booked out until the end of time, lol. The next closest one, which has wide open availability, we could easily drive to and make a weekend out of it. But then I started checking, and instead of driving, we could fly there in the morning, do our interviews and have lunch, and then hop on a plane back and be home by early evening. Am I missing any reason why we couldn't do this??

On the other hand, if you spend a little time searching for cancellations at your nearest enrollment center, you are very like to find something suitable in 72 hours or less. Best time to search is when that enrollment center is open and check frequently everyday. Good luck. |

I checked for appointment times all the way through February and the only ones available in Caifornia are in Calexico near the Mexican border. Guess we will do a road trip. Less than 2 hours so not that bad.
|
FYI - For anyone living in Southern California, there are lots of openings in Calexico if it works for you. I made 2 appointments in December. For some reason there is no calendar there for November.
Good luck everyone. |
BOS Logan airport has ZERO availability. Nothing at ALL regardless of when you look. It always returns 'no appointments available'.
What kind of pos garbage program is this? They take your money, make you wait 4+ months for conditional approval, and then you can't get an interview. |

I received my CA Oct 18 but, today I checked and I do not see any appointments open for DFW.

We had been 149 days in the long wait GE renewal process when we received our conditional approves last week. We were getting ready for work but I went ahead and checked available interview slots at our closest GE office which is San Antonio International Airport (SAT) a mere nine miles from our house. When trying to pull up the SAT appointment calendar the system immediately showed no appointments available at SAT, in fact didn’t even show me the calendar, and pointed me to the “closest” offices with available slots. One of those was Laredo, about a two hour drive from our house, so I discussed a road trip with the wife and what would be the best day or days for her. She checked her work calendar and gave me a couple dates. Logged in to look at the Laredo calendar and amazingly the SAT appointment calendar appeared with literally days and days of open appointments. This over a matter of two hours where no appointments were available to there were plenty. I can only think that it was a computer glitch or since SAT is not a 24/7 operation somebody had come to work that morning in the CBP office and turned on a computer that had their appointment calendar on it. I stayed with one of our agreed upon dates and scheduled two back-to-back lunch time appointments and we’ll turn it into a nice lunch date. Point is keep checking.

WTH! Only one Trusted Traveler Enrollment Center in all of CA?
Hi,
I must have missed something. I applied on 10/28 and conditionally aproved today (11/01). Went to schedule an interview on the website and it says the only Trusted Traveler Enrollment Center in all of CA is in San Diego. Can I just get it done in SFO or SMF? They allow applications on entry from international travel. Thanks. |

Thanks Randy
I looked out as far as 2020 November and only San Diego came up in CA.
Your right there are five, but isn't the one at SFO (and at all airports) *only* for incoming international passengers? How do you book the ones at airports if you can book them. I'm using the portal https://ttp.dhs.gov/schedulerui/sche...nal&service=UP

There are five enrollment centers in California including SFO. I assume you tried to check and book an interview and all the system came back with was the San Diego-Otay Mesa office. Hard to say exactly what that means but the easy answer was none of the other offices had any interview slots available. I live in San Antonio, Texas and my first try came back with a list of other offices in Texas that had appointments but nothing at SAT. Two hours later after deciding to take a road trip to an office about 150 miles away I logged back in and all of a sudden SAT was visible and had plenty of slots available. Beats me why other than maybe SAT hadn’t updated it’s calendar database that morning or it was offline fir some reason. Keep trying.

Does anyone know why the Seattle location is not accepting interviews at all!!? Both of my kids have been conditionally approved but I cannot find ANY interviews except for in far away locations. Should I keep checking, or is Seattle "closed"?
